A light flickered on overhead, causing her to squint her eyes as she awoke. She stretched, yawning, as she sat up in her bed.
Ugh… Where am I? she wondered, looking around the unfamiliar room. Something didn't feel right. Like…she was forgetting something…or everything… Wait-wait-wait. Why can't I remember anything? What the crap is going on here?
She stood and paced the room a few times before noticing a pale, yellow envelope with a name on it: Skye Hart. Making her way over to it, she picked the envelope up and rifled through the papers inside. A picture of herself accompanied the information.
So my name is Skye Hart? Huh. That's pretty cool, I guess.
Skye read through all the information, trying to remember as much as she could. She shook her head when she still couldn't remember, hoping that it would all come back soon.
On the last page in the file, something caught her eye: There are others like you here, as well. She blinked, then read it again, trying to make sure she understood it correctly.
There are more people here? she mused, looking around the room. When she saw no one, she decided that she should maybe go look for them, rather than being alone. Skye set the folder down, then cautiously opened the door, stepping out of the room warily.
The nineteen year old opened his eyes, yawning. As he sat up, he looked around the room he was in. This isn't my room, or wait, is it? He shook his head, trying to remember. Doesn't matter. He tried getting out of his bed, but the lack of light made him fall to the floor with a loud THUMP. "Good going-" He cut off. Shoot. What's my name? The lights flickered on at that exact moment, and after a few seconds he could spot a name on a file by his bed. "Gavin Sherwood? Gavin….Sherwood…" He sounded it out so he wouldn't forget again.
Amaryllis cautiously walked around the dark hallway, biting her lip and hoping nothing would jump at her. She touched a wall and felt something against her hand. It felt like a switch, and with slight hesitation, she pressed it. The hallway lighted up with light from the fire sticks on the wall, burning away Amaryllis's fear. Now that it was lighted, Amaryllis could see the place had black walls with fire sticks on them. It was completely void of pictures or anything that could make the hallway seem lighter. As she walked further, Amaryllis observed how the walls now contained strange words and numbers, as if someone had been writing on them to remember important information. To say that Amaryllis was freaked out was an understatement. Where was she? How did she get here? Who was she? Why couldn't she remember anything?
After a while, Amaryllis heard a door opening. She followed the noise and saw a woman come out of a room. Her hair looked pinkish-silver, styled into a bob.
She must be one of the people the file was talking about… Amaryllis said to herself before walking up to the woman tentatively.
"Hello…" she said quietly as to not startle the girl. "Are you… are you also like me?" Amaryllis wanted to slap herself for the stupid question, but she still maintained a composed expression as the woman turned around to look at her.
Skye blinked, somewhat startled, as the woman started talking to her.
"Uh… If you mean, I have no idea where I am, how I got here, or even who I am, then… I guess so?" she replied.
Gavin didn't read the file, but he did slip it under his black ski jacket. This could be important… He stood up, rubbing his left arm which would probably have a bruise soon. He looked around the room. It was so…bare and plain. It reminded him of…what was the word…someplace. Gavin shook his head. Maybe I got knocked out and can't remember anything. Yes, that must be it. I'll go find….my parents? Do I have any? He sighed, opening the door and ignoring the loud noises that filled the silence.
Skye blinked, somewhat startled, as the woman started talking to her.
"Uh… If you mean, I have no idea where I am, how I got here, or even who I am, then… I guess so?" she replied.
Amaryllis sighed with relief.
"When the file said there were more like me, I didn't really believe it," she said. "I'm… Amaryllis. Amaryllis Stone. Or so this file says. I'm not really sure."
"Skye Hart, apparently," she said, sticking her hand out. "I'd say it's nice to meet you, but, given the circumstances, I'm not entirely sure."
Amaryllis shook her hand.
"I can understand," Amaryllis smiled just to lighten the atmosphere. "Did you also get a file?"
Gavin nervously peered out of the door. The hallway was bare as well, except for fire on the walls and two girls. Should I know them?
Amaryllis shook her hand.
"I can understand," Amaryllis smiled just to lighten the atmosphere. "Did you also get a file?"
"Yes, I did," Skye nodded. "It had a lot about me in it…"
Amaryllis nodded.
“I didn’t read all of it,” Amaryllis said as she flipped the pages of the file she received. “But this part scares me; ’To escape, you shall find the doors to freedom. Linger, and you shall be devoured.’ Perhaps this has to do with the monsterous scream I heard when I woke up.”

The silence woke her and she didn't know why. A throbbing pain resided in her head as she looked around the room, unfamiliar with where she was. The worst part, she couldn't remember anything. She gave a soft groan as she sat up to find a yellow envelope on her night stand. Terra Liv? It said, so she assumed it as her name. She rifled through it trying to remember, but nothing came to her mind. The lack of lights in the room made it even more unsettling for her. She looked around the room again, it was so… bare and plain except for her bed, a nightstand, and a flickering lamp. She got off the bed and was startled by the wooden planked creaking under her as she went over to open the brown door.
The woman paused before she reached the hall, stopping to grab some papers before heading into the dim light. Her name was Nyir Heol, apparently. Weird. She spotted two girls talking (?) and headed their way.
(I'll be here in an hour)
Gavin decided not to talk to the two girls in the hallway. This doesn't seem like a situation where I should trust strangers…
"Scream? Monsterous? Great. That's just great," Skye muttered sarcastically. "Yeah, this is really weird…"
Nyir glanced at one of the girls warily, her eyes narrowed. "Who the hell are you?"
The first thing Luna heard was the faint buzz of talking in another room. She rubbed her eyes and sat up. Her senses took over and she realised she was in an unfamilliar bed. "What?" She said out loud. Where am I? She thought. Who am I? She began to hyperventalate. Was I drugged?! She searched around the room for answers. She finally noticed a small envelope on the pillow beside her. Was that always there? She stepped closer and picked in up. 'Luna Rosaline.' It said. She opened it up, It contained an unfimilliar photo of her and other information. She dropped the letter as she felt a tingle fear do down her spine.
There are othes like you here, as well.
A million thoughts flooded her head, but only one she knew for sure. I'm going to die here.
There must be a way out of here… Gavin thought, adjusting the folder in his pocket so it didn't slip out. He quietly slipped back into his room, shutting the door behind him. He sat down criss-cross on the floor, his head leaned back against the door so he could hear what was going on in the hall. A loud snarl caused his body to stiffen up, but he ignored it. This better not be a….what was the word…pank? P….prank! Yeah, it better not be one of those. Gavin took out the folder and observed the picture at the front. Gavin Simon Sherwood. The boy on the cover had dark brown hair that was messily strewn about on his head. His eyes were hazel and faint stubble could be seen on his jaw, which was rather rectangular.
The sound of conversation was louder now, Luna looked towards the door and touched the door handle with shaking hands. She grasped it and pulled, revealing a plain hallway. She listened for more voices.
Lizzy……..She was unfamiliar with that name, but she decided to use it on herself anyway. She opened the door and walked down the eerie hallway. She heard the faint voices somewhere near, but she couldn't pin point where it was coming from. She quietly tip toed until she saw some movement from the edge of her vision. She heard the slight creek of a door that just closed. Now fully alert, she quickly ran over and pushed the door open to find a boy with brown hair standing there with a yellow envelope that said Gavin Sherwood. "Hi Gavin?" SHe said in an unsure voice.
Before Amaryllis could answer, she was cut off by a voice. Turning around, Amaryllis found herself staring at a female.
“Who the hell are you?” the female questioned verily, eyes narrowed. Amaryllis tilted her head before shrugging.
“Amaryllis,” Amaryllis answered a bit hesitantly, keeping up her guard in case the girl ended up being what the guide warned her about. “Apparently. Skye and I are one of the few brought here. Who might you be?”
Nyir gestured to her file. "I guess Nyir." She left out her last name on purpose, not quite trusting the two of them. "Any idea where we are? And what's going on?"
“I don’t know,” Amaryllis sighed. “But what I do know is that we’re in danger, and that we need to get out before we’re killed.” Amaryllis flipped through the pages once again, but the ground shook once more, and once again a shriek was heard. Amaryllis jumped and almost dropped her file, her eyes widening in fear. The shriek started to get louder every second, causing the fire sticks on the wall to shake, causing her ears to ring painfully. Then, just like before, it fell silent, as if there was nothing wrong.
“There it is,” Amaryllis murmured. “It’s closer this time. We should hide before we’re caught. By who, I don’t know, but if stand here and talk, it might catch us.”
