Lenny narrowed her eyes. He's not bossing you around. she reminded herself. She sat back down in the chair, and continued through the lap top.
Lenny narrowed her eyes. He's not bossing you around. she reminded herself. She sat back down in the chair, and continued through the lap top.
"Nothing terribly oversized!" Dylan called after her, "we don't wanna draw a crowd."
To Lenny he whispered, "Xelnarin's family." Then he ran off to join Avery, without a hint of explanation. Lenny knew what he meant, and he didn't want to explain.
Vaughn’s jaw clenched at Dylan’s smile and he nodded in response. He didn’t sit down to eat with them. The pills that used to make him feel at peace now just made him feel sick to his stomach. He leaned back against a counter and glanced around the room, watching out the window warily.
"Fine," Avery agreed, making her way out to the car. "Hey, Oscar, could you look up some simple airplane blueprints? And have them ready to view by the time I get there."
"Sure thing. Coming right up," Oscar said.
Avery reached the silver Mustang and climbed into the driver's seat. Some of the blueprints were ready when she got there, so she glanced at them. Looking out, she saw Dylan coming and smiled.
Element let out a breath and banged her head on the table twice.
Vaughn watched Element and almost laughed. “You and me both,” He said, running a hand through his hair.
Element groaned in response, and continued clicking away on the lap top.
"Heya, Avery!" Dylan called as he ran towards her. He stopped on the other side of Oscar, leaning over the hood, "How are you holding up? I mean, considering the last 48 hours…"
Avery shrugged. "I'm fine," she said simply, trying to hide her slight annoyance from earlier. She didn't like being kept in the dark about things, but she knew that it was sometimes for the best. "C'mon in. You can look at the blueprints with me and figure out which one will be best."
“I should go talk to my contact.. He would be able to help with the whole transporting. It’d be hard to take all of us,” Vaughn said slowly, standing up straight.
Content with her answer, Dylan slid into the seat beside her and peered at the console. A list of ships and planes scrolled across. Each one with a small picture to accompany it. He scanned the list silently.
Element nodded. At this rate she'd end up traveling alone. She opened up numerous files, all tid-bits of stuff she already knew. She bit her tongue until it started to bleed slightly, keeping her from screaming in annoyance. This whole situation, it was killing her. Maybe…
Literally.
( DUN DUN DUN…… )
(No no no no we need E we need E)
( Its okay, lets emphasize the MAYBE… But… nothing is infinite. )
( also aww I feel important now )
(You've been important from the start. The whole reason no one wants to let Element carry them. We're trying to make things as easy on her as possible.)
( aaaAAwwWWW! )
(Lol, you guys. I forgot to say earlier today that I won't be on today… Sorry!) :(
(Sad face.)
Element stood, and got a glass of water. She walked outside towards Avery and Dylan, and put on a fake smile. "How's it going?"
"Going fine," Dyaln replied, not looking up, "Just trying to pick a vehicle you can land on, in case it gets to be too much. It'll be a couple days, at most, so we want to make sure this goes smoothly."
Dylan stole a quick glance at Avery and smiled back at Lenny, "Did that info check out?"
He gave her a look that questioned, We are still on the same side, right?
Lenny returned his look with a, Yes, of course.
"No. I didn't find anything." she answered sadly.
He nodded and looked back down to the list, "That's too bad. I figured it would be a decent lead. But I do have another name I got off our friend. Look up Asherim. He might be listed as Ashton Sy…" Dylan stumbled and corrected himself, "…Skylar. Most of Xelnarin's descendants traveled under human names. This is one of his sons."
Element nodded. "Dylan we'll get caught eventually." she warned.
Vaughn stepped outside, his sleeves rolled up as he dabbed at his arms, blood staining a towel. Once it seemed to lessen, he rolled the sleeves back down. He lingered near the door, listening silently.
