Vaughn waited in the car, seeming impatient. He felt restless not helping, and wished he could be doing something.
Vaughn waited in the car, seeming impatient. He felt restless not helping, and wished he could be doing something.
Remembering what she told Vaughn, Avery sighed and landed. She looked around, making sure that no one was watching, and turned into a much larger and more helpful animal. With heavy stomping and a loud trumpet, she raced to the front door, clearing a path.
Guards came after her and tried to shoot her, but the tiny bullets barely grazed her thick hide. She took down half of the ones still standing with a swipe of her trunk, then the other half by charging them. When she had defeated them all, she turned back into herself and collapsed.
She sent a message to Vaughn through Oscar, telling him to come inside. Then darkness overtook her vision for the second time in two days. Not again, she thought before the wave of black crashed over her.
Vaughn got out of the car, gun in hand. He jogged over to Avery and cursed sharply. He crouched next to her and shook her shoulder to try and wake her up.
Avery's eyelids fluttered open, and she saw a familiar face hovering above her. She groaned as she sat up and looked around.
"Sorry," she said. "I guess I just can't handle that much right now."
“Don’t worry about it, I can handle that sort of thing now,’ Vaughn said. He got to his feet and held out a hand to help her up.
Giving Vaughn a pained smile, Avery took his proffered hand and stood up. She told him what she had seen when she did a fly-through. Mainly, she didn't find Dylan or Element, but there were so many rooms that she hadn't searched them all.
Dylan heard bullets, and knew exactly what was happening. He heard the elephant crash through people, the shouts of surprise and confusion, and laughed. He kicked at the door, "Avery, Vaughn, you two out there? Hello?"
Vaughn heard a small thud. “Hold on.. Are they still in the truck? I never saw the, moved inside.” He leveled his gun, firing at the lock on the back doors, it shattering.
"Uh… I guess I didn't, either. So, yeah, they probably are," Avery gave him a sheepish smile, then raced out of the building toward the truck, seemingly recovered from fainting earlier.
lolz
(Avery can be a bit forgetful sometimes… smiles sheepishly)
Dylan glanced at Element, "I wonder if they actually know we're here. This is embarassing. Being stuck in a big metal brick is not how I thought a capture would go."
In all honesty, Dylan was rather annoyed. It was the worst thing for him, being stuck powerless, helpless, as others had to mop up for him. He typically held himself in high regard, and wasn't happy if he wasn't a part of the big job itself. Especially when the cause revolved around him.
This almost exactly fit that case. And so Dylan was annoyed, and it showed. There was a fumbling on the other side of the truck.
Reaching the truck, Avery sighed in frustration. There was a huge lock on it, and she wouldn't be able to get it open by herself. She couldn't shapeshift again without serious consequences, so that was also out of the question.
"Vaughn, could you…?" she gestured to the lock, hoping he could do something about it.
“Mhm.” Vaughn grabbed onto the lock, and snapped it off with ease. He tossed it aside and yanked the doors to the truck open.
(He just… ripped it off like it was no big deal… Wow. Okay, then…)
"Thanks," Avery said, turning back to the truck. Her eyes adjusted to the dimness, and she finally saw who she was looking for. "Dylan! Element! You're here!"
The doors swung open, revealing Vaughn and Avery. Avery seemed a little unsteady on her feet, but looked gorgeous in her suit nonetheless.Dylan felt a flutter in his chest.
"Dev," he started, smirking, " meet Aspect and Vaughn. You two, this is Devrin." hopped off the elevated back of the truck, holding out his cuffs to Vaughn, "If you would be so kind?"
(I mean, it reflects his attitude and strength is his ability lol.)
Vaughn grabbed his wrists and sharply moved them outward, the thin chain snapping. He looked over at some of the men on the ground before walking over and checking their pulses.
(Oh, I forgot, lol.)
"Nice to meet you, Devrin," Avery said, flashing him a quick smile. "Dylan, do you know why you were captured?"
He shrugged, testing his umbra-kinesis with a simple rectangle, and then a flower, finding it active again. He would test his light later.
"Not a clue. I was hoping one of you could tell me."
“They most likely wanted information,” Vaughn said as he roughly kicked a man who was starting to wake, knocking him out again.
( have had a terrible day and I don't have time to read all that. Could someone please summarize? )
( never mind I just read it. )
Element climbed out of the truck, and gestured for someone to help her with her cuffs.
Vaughn stepped over to Element and snapped her cuffs in the same manner as he did with Dylan’s before going back to silently surveying the men. He couldn’t believe he told Avery about his condition. This just made it worse for him, as that was an important secret of his. He just concentrated on the fresh air as he looked around.
Dylan walked the way opposite of Vaughn, away from Element. He felt the living pulse of a few guards, when he felt a gun press the back of his head. Without speaking, Dylan slid a shadowed hand around his attacker's neck and threw him to the ground. He spun around and held the man down, his face mere inches from his ear.
"My name is Dylan Sykes, Son of Xelnarin." He whispered, "Does that sound familiar to you?"
