@Mr.Misfit
Dylan felt the truck move, then swing a turn. It sped up.
"Anyone have any idea where in hell we're going?" He asked. The daggers formed in voice again.

Avery ignored Vaughn and tapped a silent command to Oscar. A gray wall split the car in two, separating her from Vaughn. She let the tears roll down her face but held back her sob.
Why am I even crying? she thought to herself, but she didn't bother to stop the tears.
Vaughn exhaled sharply and shook his head. He took out his phone and dialed a number. He smiled faintly when a girls voice yelled sharply, “Finny!” He forced a slight laugh, but it sounded choked. “Veda. I just need to talk right now, my condition is.. acting up at the moment.” He found it hard to breath, like something was pressing down on his lungs, and he got to urge to just jump out of the car and run.
Hearing what Vaughn said about a "condition," Avery's interest overcame her fear and anger. What could be wrong with him? How had she not noticed something was wrong?
Gosh, I'm an idiot, she thought angrily. Now I need to apologize, but I don't want to interrupt him.
An idea came into her head, and she smiled weakly to herself. She tapped another silent command to Oscar, and a blue, glowing keyboard appeared in front of her.
I'm sorry, she typed. I'm just very worried and it's messing with my head for some reason.
The message sent, and it appeared on the dashboard of the car in front of Vaughn.
Vaughn rolled down the window, inhaling the fresh air sharply. He was listening as the girl was giving him breathing instructions to ty and loosen up the choking feeling. As the message appeared he read it slowly.
“I have to go, I’ll talk later. Take care.” He said, hanging up.
He hesitantly typed back, ‘It’s fine, I’m not my best at the moment either.’
He clicked send and waited, concentrating on breathing in the fresh air.
A reply showed up in front of Avery, and she weakly smiled again. She tapped another command to Oscar, and this time the wall slowly came down.
"Are you okay?" Avery asked Vaughn. Her smile was gone, replaced by worry in her eyes and on her face.
Vaughn glanced at her, still breathing sharply and heavily. “I’m fine, nothing to worry about.” His tone was lighter, as he found it hard to use his normal tone while deprived of oxygen.
"No, you're not fine," Avery said, her words clipped by worry. "What's wrong?"
“It’s.. psychological. Agoraphobia, to be exact. Not a common mental disease, I could honestly be worse,” Vaughn muttered, head now facing the window to breathe.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. And I just made it worse when I added the wall, didn't I? Oh gosh, I'm such an idiot," Avery muttered the last part under her breath, hoping he wouldn't hear. "Would it help if I opened the other windows?"
“Don’t be sorry, you had no idea. And that would be great, thank you. It’s very difficult to breath,” Vaughn said, his voice shuddering on the last sentence. He fingered the pendent around his neck, trying to calm his nerves.
Avery immediately opened the rest of the windows. The resulting noise from the wind was too loud to talk over, so conversation was nearly impossible.
Vaughn exhaled sharply and leaned his head back, his expression looking exhausted and there was a tired look in his eyes. He decided not to explain himself further because of the noise, and he was greatful for it.
Oscar discreetly followed the truck a long way out of the city. They ended up outside another old warehouse; although, this one didn't look like it would be half as nice inside as Avery's was. Avery told Oscar to go invisible, and they drove up right next to the truck.
Vaughn’s expression went emotionless as normal as he gripped his pistol. He peered out the window before whispering, “What’s the plan?”
"Find a way in, get Dylan and Element, and get out as quickly and discreetly as possible," Avery whispered back. "Oscar, can you scan the building for entrances and danger?"
"Scan completed."
"I just asked you!" she exclaimed, still whispering.
"I started to scan as soon as we arrived, Avery," the car retorted quietly.
"Stop being sassy, Oscar. This is not the time," she said, rolling her eyes. "What are we working with here?"
"One front entrance, heavily guarded inside; one back entrance, equally well guarded. There are a few windows that you could get through if you were smaller, though."
(Oscar is sassy for a car…)
(Very.)
“Well, I’m obviously not small enough. I could go through one of the doors. I feel like I could make it through, and I can deal with the injuries later,” Vaughn said, eyeing the men as they surveyed the area.
"Don't even think about it," Avery said. "I can go through one of the windows and let you in from the inside."
Vaughn exhaled sharply. “Fine, let’s do that then.”
He stuffed the still loaded pistol back into his waistband and tucked the necklace back under his white button up.
Avery squeezed her eyes shut tight and sucked in a breath as her body shrank. Her face lengthened and sharpened, and feathers grew all over her. When the change was finally completed, she had shapeshifted into a robin.
"Wait for my signal," she chirped, her voice a much higher pitch than usual, and she flew out one of the open windows and towards the building.
Vaughn’s eyebrows raised in surprise at her transformation. He sunk down in the seat, waiting for her.
(And that's how to show someone your superpower! Lol.) ;)
(Lmao yeah.)
Avery flew into the building through an open window. As soon as she was inside, she searched for Dylan and Element.
