(Ahh, okay. How do you suggest my character should meet up with your group on the way to 'somewhere'?)
Name: Kagiso (Kah-GHEE-soh)
Age: eighteen
Appearance: Her skin is very dark, as are her eyes. Her hair is big and very curly, making her seem taller than her already towering height of 5'9
Background: Kagiso had a nice life. She lived in a good house, with her little brother and parents. Her father was a successful businessman, but when she was fifteen he cheated on his wife with a co-worker, causing Kagiso's mother to go into a fury. She went crazy and set the families house on fire with Kagiso and her little brother in it, but they were able to escape. Their father, however, was not. Now that Kagiso's mother was in prison and she was an orphan with her ten year old brother, she had to fight to survive on the streets. Her brother was taken in by an American family after a few months, but she wasn't as lucky. Instead she was kidnapped, taken to a laboratory, and experimented on by none other than The Flame. (I should have come up with a cooler name way back when…) Now she has uncontrollable powers, since she escaped before one of her 'treatments' could be finished. She's been on her own for a couple years now, running from her enemies and trying to figure out her powers. So far, she can fly, disrupt materials, (earth, mettle, rocks, etc.) and create magma\fire. She hates her powers, and wants nothing more than to cure herself of them and find her brother again.
(Maybe they get stopped and she shows up? I’ll let the others think of something if they don’t like that idea.)
(I have an idea! Remember how Artemis was investigating those weird murders? The ones we naturally linked to Xelnarin? What if that town mentioned before was thrown into revolt because of it, and our truck got firebombed or something when we stop for supplies. Enter Kasigo, the only one the revolutionaries don't dare to mess with.)
(Good with me! If Boats agrees, let’s do it!)
(Great~! Now we just need to get there. Lol.)
(We can skip a little. To like, right before our decision to make the turn.)
(And Kasigo can go ahead and start. Maybe start some fires.)
(Okay. Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding this, but Kagiso is in the town, you guys are getting messed with, and she helps you out? Or is she already fighting? Sorry for all the questions. I really haven't been on in a while )
(From what I understand, they get to the town to get supplies. While they’re there, a revolt starts, and their truck is hit with something — probably while they’re no longer in it — and then Kagiso comes to help them or something…)
(Or you could turn it on it's head and have her order it. I dunno. What would she be doing in this scenario?)
(Running from the same people you guys are running from)
(How's this…? Seriously. Tell me if I understood wrong)
Kagiso watched from her hiding position in a nearby truck as another car rounded the corner. As the people opened the doors and stepped out, she shook her head. They were going to get ambushed- any second. She'd probably have to save them, which she would do. But then she also might not be able to steal the crates of medicine from The Flame.
(Keep in mind- she has no clue you guys have powers)
(It's great! Thanks!)
Avery's nose twitched slightly as they stepped out of the truck. Someone was nearby… But she just assumed it was someone from the village, so they should be safe.
"Someone is nearby," she warned the others, just in case. "I can't tell if they're a friend or not, though, so be careful."
"Don't be jumpy. This is just a native town," Dylan responded, sliding on a small day pack, "Their probably just spooked by foreigners."
The silence of the town was uncanny, however. It left Dylan with a similar feeling. But what would come to haunt them here? They weren't exactly known, but that wasn't a bad thing, here.
"I'll go hop in and say hi, if you think that might help break the ice?"
"Honestly, I'm not sure if that would help or not… Plus, I don't want you going out there alone," Avery said as she glanced around for whomever could be out there.
You do realize how girlfriend-ish you sounded, right? Getting all protective about your guy…
Hey, he knows how I feel about him…
As the two strangers swapped comments for a moment, the girl in the shadows let out a tiny breath. Not in aggravation, but more in preparation. She would never let an innocent American couple be killed like this, and not just because they were Americans. With better medicines. And doctors. And ways to sneak a starving fugitive into a safe country…
A shout interrupted her thoughts, and she angled her head towards the sound. A man that had been hiding, waiting to ambush, was clutching his hand in pain. You could see it in his eyes, the shock of realizing he'd put his mission in jeopardy. If he was lucky, the couple would think he was just a farm hand or shop keeper yelling. But if they were smart…
With a deep breath, Kagiso took a piece of her dark head wrap and used it to cover her mouth and nose, disguising her identity. But still, she hid in the truck and waited. She wouldn't do anything until someone attacked.
Dylan started towards the yelling, gesturing to the general direction, "There we are, people. Or at least a person…."
He stopped. No one returned the call. And there was this itchy smell tickling at his nose. He turned to Avery, "Is that smoke I smell?
Avery looked around, sniffing, before turning back to Dylan with a slow nod. “Yeah, that’s smoke… There’s a fire in the village. And I don’t think we’re alone,” she added under her breath, tilting her head in the general direction of Kagiso.
Just as Avery turned her head, a shot rang out in the air. Kagiso's jerked around and watched as at least a dozen men jumped from the shadows. And then she joined them, leaping from the truck and landing near a shocked Avery and Dylan. "Good evening." she said through her head wrap. Then she hurled a messy fireball towards the nearest attacker, praying it would hit. It did.
Dylan heard the shot and felt something wet splash across his face. He dropped down, shielding himself and Avery from anymore fire.
"Good evening,"
Then fire. Screaming. The warning of a dozen other men sounded out around them. The firing stopped. The dark-skinned stranger who had seemingly appeared beside him held an outstretched hand to the angry mob. An immolated half-shell of a human lay in front of them.
The men still raged forwards, and Kagiso grunted before firing more blasts that ended in sheer elemental cacophony. Dirt was flying, with mettles in the mix, and one by one the men either fell or retreated.
"Get out!" she cried, her english heavily tinted with the aftermath of speaking Tswana her whole life. "Go!" But of course, the stupid enemy did not. "I would like some help," she shouted over her shoulder.
Avery froze at the sight of everything around them, but it only lasted for a moment before she had collected herself once more. She took things in with her heightened senses, checking the number of ambushers and their location, if she could.
"I'd like to know who you are and what you're doing, but now's really not the time for that," she muttered as she watched, feeling helpless because she didn't know how she could help with her simple shapeshifting.
Dylan crouched low and let his back hit the shield. His arm felt sore, but he was too pre-occupied in not-getting-shot to care. He peaked over the shadow-barrier, then was forced once again to duck as more bullets flew overhead. Glass broke somewhere. Before long, the truck was on fire, and Dylan's eyes went wide.
That would ignite the gasoline. The thing was gonna blow.
Without thinking, Dylan formed a lever under the car and sent it flying into the street over their heads. It exploded in midair, thankfully sending the debris flying mostly in the direction of the people shooting at them. Dylan clutched his own arm as he did this, wincing in pain. His right arm was unnaturally sore.
Kagiso grinned when Dylan flung the car into the air, and with a swipe of her hand she tried her best to pull a cloud of dust into the air. It was small, but it was enough, so she grabbed the strangers hands and ran. "We need to go, we cannot waste our energy on them!" she explained. "I don't suppose any of you have some sort of shield you could put up or something?" she asked as they ran towards an alley.
