Stars, that smile. Danielle thought, spacing out a little as she stared at Uriah. Riverpaw nodded, looking up at the demon, then, without looking, smirked and elbowed Danielle in the arm. The bunny jumped and furrowed her brow at her friend as she rubbed her arm, then shook her head and looked up at Uriah again. "W-what? Oh, yeah! Food. That's cool." She cleared her throat and pinched the bridge of her nose in disappointment.
"Okay cool. I guess I'll see you at lunch then." He gave them a little smile before walking away. I'm so not cool. Uriah mentally slapped himself. Although he was glad he could see Danielle.
Once Uriah was out of sight, Riverpaw wheezed out a laugh, covering her mouth with both hands as she snickered her way down to the floor. Danielle groaned and covered her face. "What the hell, that was dumb. That was so dumb." She said into her ears. She looked up at Durbin and narrowed her eyes. "You didn't see that. Don't you ever mention this to anyone." She said pointedly.
"Yeah, yeah." Durbin offered, picking Riverpaw back to standing position.
Riverpaw gripped Durbin's shirt as she wobbled a little, getting the rest of her giggles out. "I'm glad you're getting a kick out of this." Danielle sighed, looking very unimpressed at her friend. "I-I'm sorry." Riverpaw giggled, and she took a deep breath. "Just…y-you're usually so flirty with, l-like, everyone, but the moment you find someone you a-actually like, you…w-well, you kinda turn into me."
Danielle opened her mouth to say something, but changed her mind and started walking away.
"Don't think I don't know either." Durbin said, glancing at Danielle.
Danielle huffed, and lifted a hand to flip the panther off. "Danielle!" Riverpaw called in motherly tone. "Sorry, Mom!" Danielle called back, dropping her hand. Riverpaw looked up at Durbin, taking a step away when she realized she was still holding his shirt. "W-we should go after her." She said, not waiting for a response as she took off after her friend.
Uriah walked down the hallway head in hand. "I'm so stupid." He knew he could have been way cooler then that, but once he saw her he kind of froze.
"Whatever." Durbin said, in a too-cool-for-school manner. His long, lean, black tail snaked out.
(If he "froze", wasn't he technically "cool"?)
( Connie, just let it go.)
(Wait am I missing something?)
( I don't think so, it probably slipped. from my mind.)
(Also. Fox, friendo, you keep calling me Connie. Why?)
Riverpaw rounded the corner, almost bumping into Danielle, who was leaning against the wall. "Oh, hey. Lunch, now?" Danielle said, looking around. "You left Durbin." She added, and Riverpaw shrugged. "H-he'll catch up…are you okay?"
"Yeah, yep, I'm good. Let's go." She took Riverpaw's hand and headed towards the cafeteria.
(Oh wait your name is conner
oh man
you're the wrong person
whoops.)
Durbin lowkey pursued Riverpaw and by extension, Danielle. He lost sight of them once or twice, but always caught them again.
Uriah already had his food anand was at a table waiting for the others to show up. He finally calmed down from earlier and was feeling much better.
"Eh… well this might be stretching it a bit, but corn is a vegetable, and bu extent, you could say popcorn is a vegetable," Aram replied, "But I really like baking- you know, sweets and stuff like that- so if you ever want to taste test for me, be my guest."
"I will gladly be a taste tester for you," Amai nodded, smiling, "Also, shut up, don't tell me popcorn is a vegetable. Popcorn is amazing, vegetables aren't."
(pfft, it's cool XD)
As soon as they entered the large room, Riverpaw tapped Danielle's shoulder and pointed to the table Uriah was sitting at. Danielle huffed and headed for the line, dragging Riverpaw with her. "Don't you say a thing to him." She said, and Riverpaw smirked playfully. "I-I won't..make a promise I can't keep, but I will try."
"Seriously, Riverpaw."
"Okay, yeah, I won't say anything."
"You must not have ever had good vegetables then," Aram said, "Anything can be delicious if cooked right."
He looked at the clock sitting out on the dresser. "Oh, it's about dinner time. Did you want to go?"
Uriah looked around the room and saw Riverpaw and Danielle. He smiled and gave them a small wave. Yeah, I feel much better now. He turned back to his food and wait for them before he ate.
Riverpaw quietly hummed a song to herself as she waited for Danielle to get her food, since she had already stopped in the hall on their way to get her bag from her locker. Danielle started to hum along as she got out of the line, and the two of them made their way to Uriah's table. They went off into their shared "play world" as they bounced along and hummed together.
"What song are you humming?" They looked happy, they always looked happy when they were together. Which made it harder for Uriah because they were always together. He didn't hate Riverpaw at all, he just thought it would be nice to just hang out with Danielle.
