"Hi." Riverpaw replied quietly.
"Yeah, don't mind her. She's kinda scared of…well, anything that isn't an another animal or a plant or a tree."
"Hey…rude…"

Cicada snorted, “Didn’t hear anything about demons. Must be scared of them.”

Riverpaw looked away, but Danielle shrugged. "Yep. But she warmed up to Uri pretty quickly, so who knows?"
"Uri…?"
"Oh- Uriah. My bad, you know I like nicknames."

"It's fine you can call me that." You couldn't have been any less chill? He said sarcastically in his head. Why was she so hard to deal with. "Anyway, since everyone is introduced. Why don't we do something together?" Uriah just noticed he was the only guy in this group right now.

"Sure! Did you have anything in mind?" Danielle asked.

"We could always have that race." He stood tall and looked down at her, eyebrow raised and a smile on his face. Danielle was fun to be around, different from some people hes always fighting with, or doesn't listen to anyone, head strong. He shook his head, enough about Katherine.

"Oh. Yes." Danielle gave a wide smile, narrowing her eye playfully at Uriah. Riverpaw took a step back. "Y-yeah, count me out."

Durbin approached the group.
"Hey guys, Nienna okay." He said.

"Hey Durbin." Uriah was stretching and warming up. "You sure Riverpaw? You could ride on my shoulder." He didn't want her to feel left out. He hoped she didn't feel he was taking her friend from her, because he wanted to be friends with both of them.

Riverpaw's ear twitched curiously. "Y-you mean like, i-in my wolf form?"
(I think @ShadeStar went off for the night)

"Yeah, or I could give you a piggyback in your human form. It's up to you." Everybody already knew that Danielle was going to win, but he might as well try his best.

"Uh…O-okay, sure.."
Danielle crouched, stretching her legs. "This'll be fun, huh? A demon and a bunny racing against each other. I mean, I've heard you guys can be pretty fast, but who knows? Still, being a bunny, I have the natural advantage." Danielle started giggling and mumbling to herself, something she did when she was being cocky. Riverpaw sighed quietly.

"So," Uriah leaned up against the tree that was next to him. "Which form would you prefer?" He was fine with both, demons were strong so in in her human form she would probably weigh nothing.

"M-my wolf would probably b-be lighter.." Riverpaw mumbled.
"River, babe, if you're scared of him carrying you just say so." Danielle commented nonchalantly from the floor.
"W-what? No! I-I…just…"
"Uh-huh? You just…?"
Riverpaw looked up at Uriah, then looked at her feet as she messed with her tail nervously.

"Sorry," He walked over and picked her up with one hand. "You don't have to worry, your super light." He quickly put her down. "And you don't have to be scared of me. But of you want to be in wolf form that's fine with me." He smiled.

Riverpaw froze, her eyes wide. "D-did he just pick me up and put me down like it was nothing!? Don't freak out don't freak out don't freak out-"
"Riverpaw."
"Wha-?"
"You good?"
"Uhh…y-y-yeah. I-I think." She shook her head a bit and took a deep breath. "I'm good. I-I'll be in my wolf form, p-please."

"Okay." He shrugged and sat on the ground so it would make it easier for her to get on him. "Tell me when your ready?"

Riverpaw nodded and looked at Danielle. And Danielle, being the teasing best friend that she is, raised her brow and smirked. The face that says, clear as day, "No turning back now."
Riverpaw took a deep breath and shifted. "O-okay…" She shuffled over to Uriah and looked up at him, sending 'don't hurt me' vibes that she hoped he'd pick up. She knew he wouldn't, she trusted him enough, but her instincts kept screaming the opposite. She jumped up onto his shoulder, gripping his shirt as best she could with her paws, and struggled a bit awkwardly before finally settling herself.
Meanwhile, Danielle was covering her mouth with both hands, trying hard not to laugh.

Her claws dug onto his shoulder and it hurt, but he'll let her do it if it makes her more comfortable. Plus it's harder to rip skin than a shirt so, she should be fine. "Okay," He bent down in a starting position. "You ready?" He looked over at Danielle.

"Yeah. To the wall straight ahead, and back?"

"Got it!" He took off running getting a head start. Uriah was fast, but Danielle would catch up quick. "Tell me if you feel like your going to fall okay?" He said to Riverpaw.

"Well isn't it obvious?" He said, shapeshifting into a familiar fork-tailed, upright standing cat.
"It's me, Mr. Nekoichi!"

"What?" Nienna got even more confused.

From the corner of her eye, she saw Danielle and Uriah racing. "What on earth are they doing?"
