Amai looked at the newcomer who had taken a seat next to him. He glared at the elves and sighed. Seeing as the newcomer had headphones, Amai tapped her shoulder to get her attention before saying with a smile, “Are they giving you trouble too? If you want we can stick together, two is better than one, right?”
Nienna turned around to the guy who tapped her on the shoulder. "Are they giving you trouble too? If you want we can stick together, two is better than one, right?” She didn'tneed to take her headphones off sincr she could see the words fly through the air as multiple colors. Huh red, interesing She thought to herself before replying. "Glad too."
Amai grinned “Nice! My name’s Amai, what’s yours?” Amai asked cheerfully. He started to fiddle with his pencil, twirling it in his hand.
"Nienna." Now his sound waves were coming out yellow which was confusing her a bit, but she didn't mind.
(I’m curious, what do the colors mean? •u•)
“Nice to meet you!” Amai grinned. He rested his head on his hand, looking around the room.
(She has chronosithia whoch is like a disorder thing that nakes you see sound as color geometrically.)
"I can say the same." Befire she looked up to see the teacher enter the class. "Good day students. I am your Professer. Topia. But you can call be Professer T, now please get your leafelets out and turn to pg.35." She replied before student spoke up. "Wait why does she get to have headphones?!" They complained. The professer frowned. "Well she can't exactly concentrate with all the ruckus you're making." Another Student spoke up. "But we can handle it why can't she?" The professer responded. "Because each of us are different and have our needs Now please turn to the page I told you to turn to."
(I know that, but do the colors have a specific meaning?)
Amai sighed, he was done with his classmates. He was also curious about Nienna’s headphones, but had the decency to not ask. It might be a sensitive topic for her. He flipped to the page and listened to the teacher.
Nienna completely ingnored all the arguing and turn to the page in her leaflet. Hm Oleander's interesting. She thought to herself. "I figured for the first day of school I could evaluate what you know before we can do some fun things. Please take a moment to flip through the pages before I hand out this test." The professer said.
(No but like if theres codes and stuff. Yeah.)
(Oh, okie!)
Amai flipped through the pages, skimming through. He sighed and closed it. Amai tapped his pencil on the desk and started daydreaming about popcorn.
The professer gave out the quiz which Nienna found was quite easy for her. "Alright class once your're done. Please go to the back where there are aprons, gloves and goggles and put them on before picking a plot."
After he finished the test, Amai stood and put on an apron. He grabbed the goggles and put them around his neck and grabbed some gloves. He put them in his pocket instead of putting them on.
Nienna did as the professor asked before she stood next to Amai. "Why are you putting then in your pockets?" She asked out of curiosity.
“I don’t like gloves all that much, so I’m just putting them in my pocket, ya know, just in case,” Amai shrugged.
Nienna nodded, and didn't ask futher before the professer spoke up. "Alright everyone, these are special oleanders, they're called Marakip, does anyone know what they are used for?"She asked and Nienna raised her hand. "It's known for it's special healing capabilites, but the catch is that they are fast so you have to be quick to get them." Nienna responded, getting glares in return. "Good. Now all you have to do is catch them before dumping them in water like this." She said and demonstrated. "And then, quickly put them in a pot and cover them in dirt. Alright is everyone ready?"
Amai nodded with a grin. He started to bounce up and down on the balls of his feet, anticipation welling up inside of him.
"Alright then go!" The professer released a crate full of Marakip. "Catch them if you can!'
Amai grinned. He looked around, noticing most people went for the big group of Marakip, but the smaller groups were left alone. Amai ran after one such group, away from most people. After making sure no one was watching him, Amai made a small air barrier, trapping the Marakip. He grabbed it, dumped it in the water, put it in the pot, and covered it with dirt like the teacher had demonstrated.
Meanwhile, Nienna had to take off her headphones for moment and was blasted again in the ears by all the vibration. Each step and thud was like a sonic boom happening over and over again, she gave a yelp as she went on one knee, getting use to all the booming before she stood up and took a deep breath and chased after a Marakip which wasn't hard after managing to predict their step. Nienna took it and dumped it in water before quickly covering it in dirt in the pot. She wildly looked around for her headphones before managing to locate them and slap them on her ears.
“Are you ok?” Amai asked, concerned. He started to bounce on the balls of feet.
"Uh yeah, I'm ok." Nienna replied and kept her hand on her headphones as if they were going to fall off.
“That’s good,” Amai looked at Nienna and bit his lip, “Um, if you don’t mind me asking, what are those for?” Amai pointed to his own head where her headphones were.
"Oh those are for blocking out the vibrations because one of my powers is hearing vibrations and so it gets overwhelming sometimes. These just help me control it." Nienna replied before she start Marakip running out of the classroom with students chasing after them.
“Oh, ok,” Amai nodded. He assumed it would be a pain to have to live with that every day. He watched the other students run after the Marakip.
"So um, should we go help them or like?" Nienna questioned as she watched the professer run out the door screaming.
