Addison's smiled. "I wouldn't fire you even of I could. And Jaxton promoted me to captain before the start of this whole mess, after my dad—not dad…got injured and couldn't come."

“… well now I shall call you captain.” Lucille said blankly.
(WAIT WHAT’S THE RANK UNDER CAPTAIN, LIKE RIGHT UNDER, I’M TERRIBLE AT RANKINGS.)

"He's still your dad, Sestra," Phoenix said comfortingly, before turning to Lucille, "Since we have plenty of supplies, we need to find somewhere else to park the ship. Somewhere more easily defendable than this, in case anything happens."

"Umm…..if it helps at all, Winn and I installed a cloaking device on the ship before we left."(let's just say that Winn is a technician thats a friend of hers)

"That's great for creatures and beings that rely on sight, but a lot of creatures on this planet rely on other senses or magic," Phoenix explained, "I can cast a cloaking enchantment to double the power of the device you installed, along with blocking other senses, but it won't be all-encompassing and we're better safe than sorry."

“Yes, i noticed.”

Addison nodded. "M'kay." She stood up, then sat down again. "How do I control these gigantic wings?" She asked as her wings just seemed to be doing their own thing.

"Luce, can you scan the planet for somewhere else to park the ship?" Phoenix asked, "I can give the general locations of villages, but it's been a while and I don't know the planet that well."

"One sec, I'll show you," Phoenix said to Addi, as she spread her own wings, which until that point had been absorbed into her back.

“There goes our meeting for a plan,” Lucille muttered, rushing to the map room.

"Should we do this outside? There are a lot of things that I could break in here. And Jasmine is sleeping. So is Jay." She indicated towards Jay, who had his head down on the table.

After pointing out the spots on the map to Lucille, Phoenix returns to Addi and Jay.
"Ok, so do you want to be able to control them in general, or absorb them?" she asked.

“Do you want me to drive the ship there or…?”

"I think learning to absorb them first would be a good idea."

(I'm free from maths!)
Turning to Lucille, Phoenix said, "Yes, that would be great, once we get there I'll cast the enchantment."
After Lucille went to the pilot room, Phoenix turned back to Addi.
"Ok so, first, I want you to pull up the skin on the back of your hand and let it go," she started, doing so herself to demonstrate.

“If I crash this thing, don’t blame me.”

Addison carefully followed Phoenix's instructions.

Phoenix chuckled at Lucille's warning.
"Notice how it goes back down? That's because of elastin fibers in the dermal layer of your skin," she explained to Addi, "Now imagine that the skin on your back does the same thing, but when it goes back down, it takes your wings with it."

(sorry for vanishing for so long) Jay bolted upright, part of his bagel stuck to his face. "I'm awake!"

"Glad you're back, sleepy head!" Phoenix laughed.

He took the bagel off his face, staring down at it through his crooked glasses. "Knew I should have went to bed earlier."

“… uh…” Lucille looked at the controls.
