"Just when I make him mad. Or when he's drunk again." Jay shrugged a little bit.
"Just when I make him mad. Or when he's drunk again." Jay shrugged a little bit.
"And how often is that?" He asked opening his eyes again and looking down at Jay.
He shrugged again. "When I do something he doesn't like. He gets drunk…maybe three or four times a week?" he closed his eyes for a moment.
Finn held him even closer. "That's not- That's a lot Jay," He says shaking his head slightly.
Jay shrugged yet again, leaning against Finn. "It could be worse." he countered, eyes still closed.
"doesn't mean that it's not already bad," He said holding Jay's hand.
Jay laced their fingers together. "I guess…but my mom…what he does to her is worse." he shivered a little.
"You could report him. He won't be able to hurt either of you," He tries again.
"I told you, I've tried, and that just makes it worse." Jay replied quietly, leaning his head against Finn's shoulder again.
"And I told you I know people who we can go too. If you let me it'll just be a few calls. Please, Jay, he should be put away for what he's doing," He whispered practically begging him.
"I don't have anywhere else to go!" Jay opened his eyes again. "If I lose him, I lose my home, too, and I don't know where I would go. I can't come here, because I can't let you lose Poppy because of me."
"You'll still have your mom or we can figure something out. I just want you to be safe." His hand lightly tightened around Jay's.
"He hasn't hurt me that badly yet." Jay replied. "I'll be fine."
“You couldn’t go to school and your ribs are severely bruised,” He fights. “That’s pretty bad.”
"Yeah, but he hasn't broken bones." he countered with a shrug.
“And? You can hurt someone bad without landing them in the hospital. Jay you could say ‘it could be worse’ for every situation,” He tries to argue and keep his voice steady.
Jay shrugged again. "So?"
“So you deserve to be safe and have justice. He should be behind bars.” His voice cracked slightly at the end but he just sighed.
Jay closed his eyes again. He let out a soft sigh. "I don't want to talk about this anymore."
“Ok but…we’re going to have to talk about it at one point,” he looked back at the laptop that had been playing the movie the whole time.
"Maybe." Jay replied with a shrug, opening his eyes and looking at the laptop.
Finn was tense after that but he didn’t say anything else just focused on the movie.
Jay stayed snuggled close to him, watching the movie.
Finn tried to relax holding Jay close.
Jay continued to watch the movie, not wanting to think about what would happen when he went home.
