Obadiah felt his phone buzz in his pocket. He took it out and read the text from Cat. If you want to, I have no qualms, he sent back.
Obadiah felt his phone buzz in his pocket. He took it out and read the text from Cat. If you want to, I have no qualms, he sent back.
"I'm a block away," Cat responds as she continued her walk.
ok. See you soon. He stuffed his phone back in his pocket.
(I'm gonna be only planes for the next twelve hours so I'll talk to y'all later)
"Well that works for me. I would like to meet you and discuss more in person," Zane explained. "Are you free tomorrow?"
"What time?" she asked. "I'm working almost all day tomorrow."
Cat knocks on Obadiah’s door a smile on her face.
Obadiah strode over to his door to open it, “Hello,” he half smiled to her.
Cat masked her nerves with her smile. ”Hey, can I come in?”
“Sure,” he opened the door some more for her, “Just don’t go in the basement.” He said that to everyone every time someone came to his house. Well, everyone except Zane.
Cat smiled and walked into the house. She's been there a couple of times but only for business. "Sorry I just needed somewhere to be for a little bit," She explained and waved at Zane.
Zane returned Cat's wave before continuing his conversation with Nyir. "What time works for you?"
"I'm off after seven," she said softly.
Zane smiled. "Fantastic, you can meet me as soon as you get off of work. Get a piece of paper, I'll tell you the address," He told her, before giving her the address of his condo.
Nyir wrote it down with her left hand. The wording was sloppy and hard to read, but it was better than trying to write with her dominate hand. "Okay, I got it. Listen…" she paused, hesitant. "Never mind."
Zane quirked his eyebrow. "What's wrong?"
"How dangerous is this job?" she said after a moment's pause. "I don't care if something happens to me, but I need to get a good sum of money before it does."
Zane's mouth formed an 'o'. "Nyir, any job like the one we do is bound to be dangerous, but it can be more or less dangerous depending who you're working for. I've met many people like me who don't care about when or where their sellers go to do their jobs. With me I plan routes for everyone based on police patrolling times, when the most or least dangerous people are out on the streets, and a few other things," He explained to her. He wandered over to Obadiah's couch and sat down, bouncing his knee. "That doesn't mean accidents don't happen and things don't go wrong. That's all the assurance I can give you," He sighed.
Nyir nodded slowly. "That's fine. I'll see you tomorrow then."
"Wonderful," Zane responded. He put his phone back in his pocket. "Hello, Cat."
Obadiah strolled over to the kitchen, “Do you want a drink, Kitty Cat?”
”yeah please and don't call me that!” she responded rolled her eyes at the nickname. ”And hey Zane.”
Zane slung his arm over the couch and took a swig of his beer. "I'm sure you guys heard, but I'm meeting with Nyir tomorrow. If you guys want to come then feel free to."
“Of course I’m coming.” Obadiah fell back into his black leather couch, “I’m the one who introduced all of this to her, aren’t I? You should be thanking me.”
"I'll come. Fresh meat!" She joked falling onto the couch.
