"It was a job. And it was really good money, I was struggling for money. I was desperate to provide for James."

"I can help you provide for James now."

He nods and sighs quietly. "Is he okay?" He asks softly.

Max nodded. "Yea, he's sleeping in his room."

V nods and leans back as he releases a breath.

Max sighed. "How are we going to explain this to James?" He muttered.

"James knows I can get hurt doing my job." He shrugs. "It isn't my first time coming home injured."

"Oh okay then," He muttered.

V nods and kisses Max's hand gently.

Max smiled slightly and returned the kiss.

Ve sighs happily, "I love you." he mutters.

"I love you too," He muttered.

He smiles before resting his head back.

He smiled back and glanced around the room.

He shuts his eyes, feeling tired and weak.

"Can I stay the whole night?"

"Yeah. I think so." He says softly.

"Okay then, I'll stay if that's okay," He mumbled.

He nods and smiles a little.

He smiled back and kissed his forehead.

"Who's watching James?" He croaks.

"Um, no one, for now," He muttered.

"He'll be okay. I can text Mia really fast."

"Okay then."

He nods and texts Mia quickly before sighing and leaning back.
