(Am I though? Am I really?)
(Yes you are.)
(…Okay)
(Darren isn't here to be supportive so it's up to me)
(Oh god we're doomed)
(We really are, I'm a depressing mess)
(I'll be the encouraging one! When I'm not being a dumbass)
"Uh, either is fine, but it's probably safer to take the bus. Also, don't call an ambulance if I pass out. I should wake up pretty quick." Lloyd adjusted the strap of his backpack and walked out the door with Lillian.
Lillian raised an eyebrow began making her way to the bus stop. Her mother's stolen credit card in hand, "Okay? Any reason for that? Because other people might call for me."
"Oh, no reason other than not bothering the operators. It's nothing serious enough that emergency services would need to show up." Lloyd got onto the bus with Lillian, seeming a bit tense for some reason. He'd been on earth a little while, but he still didn't trust cars or buses. They made him feel claustrophobic.
Lillian let out a sigh and rubbed her face sitting down in one of the best seats, "Okay, but that doesn't mean people won't do it. Sit down next to me."
Lloyd complied and sat beside Lillian, staring at the ground with a vague air of anxiety. Just don't think about the confined metal death trap…
Lillian could feel the anxiety around Lloyd and gently asked, “You okay?”
"Y-Yeah, I just… don't like public transportation?" Not technically a lie, I guess. "It's nothing, really. I just don't like not being able to escape quickly in case of an emergency."
“That makes sense,” Lillian nodded quietly, “So how’s your life been?”
"Alright, I guess. I mean, not really any different than usual other than the whole musical thing. Now word's going to get around that I sing…" He sighed quietly. "I don't know if that's good or bad, honestly. I've always been invisible before now, but invisible is safe."
“It won’t be that good or bad,” Lillian reassured him, “You’ll probably be a bit more recognizable to the drama kids, but that should be all.”
"Yeah…" Lloyd looked at the ground again. The bus suddenly stopped and he glanced out the window, confused. "Are we here?"
“Nope we got one more stop,” Lillian said after looking around the bus stop settings, “Then were there.”
"Oh, alright." Just don't mention how you don't understand human transportation. It's suspicious. The bus started moving again and Lloyd looked back at the floor. His lightheadedness just got worse as they went on, but he didn't express any physical signs of it other than his eyes unfocusing and refocusing.
Lillian frowned as she watched Lloyd’s eyes unfocus refocus. The bus stopped a second time and she made grabbed Lloyd carefully by the arm, “Hey were here.”
"Okay…" Lloyd stood up as normally as he could and got off the bus with Lillian. Once it left, he said, "Just gimme a minute… remember, you don't need to call an ambulance." After that, he passed out. Luckily, they weren't in a busy area where someone else might call 911.
Lillian sighed and watched worriedly as Lloyd laid on the ground passed out. She couldn’t do anything because he had asked her not to. The boy really needed food.
After a minute or two, Lloyd opened his eyes and forced himself to stand up. "Nngh… sorry about that… hopefully I wasn't out too long?"
Lillian let out a breath of relief before moving to help him, “Not that ling, but if you’re passing out like that something has to be wrong.”
