(Y'all could learn about Laura.)
(You could put Laura in the conversation?)
(The current conversation, or a new one after we Timeskip?)
(Probably current.)
(Okay. She's not exactly a social butterfly, but I'll come up with something in a few minutes.)
(That's fine, just keep her in and keep this going.)
"Um…" Laura spoke up timidly. "Can I join? I could do scenery or something." As long as she didn't have a role. As long as her father didn't find out. As long as she was home before him.
Lillian looked over at Laura with a smile, "Yeah! That would be great!"
Laura slowly approached them, clutching her precious notebook too her chest. She smiled weakly. "How late after school do rehearsals go?" she asked quietly.
"Normally around 2 or so hours," Lillian responded, "If they went longer parents may have a problem."
Especially mine. "Okay, that's fine," Laura said, nodding her head thoughtfully.
Lillian grinned, "Great! Glad to have you here."
Laura smiled shyly. "So, I heard you say the play was West Side Story…?"
"Yep," Lillian nodded, "Roles should be announced any moment now."
Laura nodded.
The doors were thrown open and a petty strawberry-blonde entered the auditorium. She strutted to the front and cast a withering glare at Laura. The shy girl stepped into the shadows. "When do we find out parts?" she asked, demanding anyone who knew to answer.
"5 minutes!" Belle poked her head out from backstage to glance around the room and answer the girl's question.
The girl smirked, eyeing Laura sharply again before sitting down in the front row and pulling out her phone to text.
Lillian looked over at Taylor throwing daggers with her eyes. That girl was about as bad as Rachel, except with a smidge of talent the other didn't have. She walked over to Laura, "You good?"
Laura swallowed and nervously replied, "Yeah, I'm fine…" Her appearance clearly said otherwise. She trembled and had hugged her notebook even tighter against her chest.
"No your not," Lillian sighed, "Let me guess. Taylor is your Rachel?"
Laura looked confused. "S-Sorry… who's Rachel?"
"Wow," Lillian looked a little shocked a smile on her face, "She's the theater clubs local bitch. God awful both in personality and skill. Has a knack for anything that involves ruining my life and mine alone. Also is one of the most popular girls in school."
Laura nodded quickly. "That's Taylor."
"Figured," Lillian snorted, "Feel free to hide out, but she is a member of the club."
