"You know what?" Darren said suddenly pulling out of Lillian's embrace. "That day is gonna be today."

Lillian wiped at her tears, "What do you mean?"

"We are going to treat today like none of that has ever happened to us." Darren had a look of confidence on his face. "If you'll accompany me. We can have our first date and our parents can't do anything about it… We can shut our phones off and ignore the world and all the awful things it's done." Darren smiled and offered his hand out for Lillian to grab, "Only if you'll accompany me."

Lillian smiled and let out a small laugh. She took Darren's hand, "That sounds amazing. Let's do it!"

Darren returned the smile and let out a short laugh while pulling Lillian up and heading to walk out the door. "Where shall we go your highness?" Darren winked at Lillian.

Lillian laughed, "Oh I don't know. You can decide, though, uh, maybe one of us should keep our phones on in case Paige contacts us again."

"I can keep mine on. You turn yours off, we aren't going anywhere until you do." Darren smiled.

Lillian rolled her eyes as she opened her phone. A second message from her mom had come through. She didn't bother reading it as she shuddered before turning her phone off. She felt as if some huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders.

Lloyd opened his eyes again. How late is it? He checked the clock on the wall. Jeez, I slept for an entire hour… The smell of food came from the kitchen. but Lloyd didn't really care. He rarely ate, after all, considering he didn't need to. He stood up, straightening out his hoodie. His hair was messy, and he still seemed a bit tired.

"Hey Lloyd we're going out, we will be back later. Are you okay with that?" Darren shouted to Lloyd.

"Yeah… sure, whatever. Guess I'm staying here then? Are you setting me as a watch?"

"Watch?" Darren questioned. "Like to watch the house?"

"I'm proud of you already!" Darren said with a huge smile on his face. "Step one complete."

Lillian's face heated up as she smiled, "Thanks."

"Like, watch for danger. If you're out in the wild and most of the group is asleep or gone, you set someone as a guard, or watch. You know, to protect the base."

Darren laughed, "It can be a team effort you and my dog." He patted Sydney on the head.

The two got in the car and were on their way. Eventually, they pulled up to an amazing view overlooking some great, beautiful body of water. "You like the beach?" Darren turned to Lillian, a smile still plastered on his face.
