Lillian nodded, squeezing his hand back. Her eyes closed, "I-I love you."
“Would it be better if we went somewhere else?”
“N-No. It’s not the s-spot. It’s me,” Lillian said each word a struggle to get out. She was still drowning, but recovering.
“Okay. We can always go home if you need to. Just so you know,”
‘Home’ the word sent a tremor through her body before she reigned herself back in, “Can we go there? Please.”
“Of course,” he started the car and drove towards home one handedly, not letting go of her hand until they pulled in the driveway.
Lillian had herself mostly under control. She was grateful Darren let go but wanted to scream at him for reckless driving. Lillian knew they had to let go in order to get out, but she didn’t want to.
He circled around and opened the door for her. “We can just go and relax a bit,”
Lillian nodded as she got out. Reaching for his hand immediately. It was her anchor, her reminder nothing in her head was real.
He pecked her lips and laced their fingers together as they walked in the house.
Lillian felt the ghost of a smile on her lips. A reminder of how the day began, and it seemed to be ending. She glanced around warily, worried about who might be watching.
He pulled her up the stairs and fell onto the bed, “Let’s just chill, we have nowhere to be, no obligations and it’s just us,”
“What about Cooper?” Lillian asked hesitantly. She had shut the door behind them and moved towards the bed sitting on the edge.
“Coop will be in the hospital for awhile. Suicide hole is AT LEAST 72 hours. He needs his rest anyways,”
Lillian nodded slowly. She was safe, this was safe, “Will you want to go back anytime soon? To visit him?”
Darren laid his head back on the pillow and stuck out his arms for her to come lay with him. “Probably,”
(I’m ditching for the night)
Night.
(Same)
Lillian smiled slightly as she laid down next to him. She was safe, he was safe, this was safe, “Not anytime soon?”
(Night!)
"To be honest, I'm not completely sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing." She muttered.
“It seems like you think of it as a bad thing,”
"It seemed like it at the time. I think it's a bit of both."

“Not until you’re ready,”
"To be honest, I'm not completely sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing." She muttered.
“It seems like you think of it as a bad thing,”
"It seemed like it at the time. I think it's a bit of both."
“Then that’s what I’m apologizing for,”
"You don't have to apologize." She was really starting to wish it wasn't just the two of them, she was starting to get anxiety.
