Lillian gently elbowed his arm, "Whatever you say, nerdie birdie."
Lillian gently elbowed his arm, "Whatever you say, nerdie birdie."
"What?" Neal chuckled, "No it's Neal, I was just asking if Cooper left?"
"Oh. Yes, he did," Fleur replied, sitting up slowly and rubbing her eyes.
"He does that when he gets overwhelmed… just kinda… goes without saying anything. I'm sure he'll be back,"

"Overwhelmed? Was I doing something wrong?" she wondered aloud.
Lillian gently elbowed his arm, "Whatever you say, nerdie birdie."
The race was about to start and Darren's face was serious as if this was extremely important.
Lillian had a light smile on her face as she got ready to boost off.

"No, it's not you, don't worry," Neal sat down next to her, "He's just going through a lot and ever since he was little, he's just gotten overwhelmed at times, I dunno,"
Lillian had a light smile on her face as she got ready to boost off.
The countdown was at 2 and he held the button down… Oh he was no rookie.
Lillian also held her button down. Neither were rookies, it would be an insult to call them rookies.
They took off and Darren stayed serious as he stared at the screen.
Lillian wasn't as serious as she boosted ahead into the front.
The colors on the screen were becoming blurry and mixed but he was right behind her.
Lillian noticed his placement behind her, but stayed steadfast in her play style. Just keep in the lead and all will be well. Was he well?
It wasn't long before the room around the screen began to spin, he laid back and maneuvered around her. It was okay.
Lillian was a little worried, but stayed focused on the game. She was holding a red shell for this exact occasion. RELEASE THE RED!

"So what happened with him and Belle?" Fleur asked, hoping for a little more information.

"Oh. They dated awhile back but he was like… 19 when she was 13 or 14… Nonetheless they were in love until Cooper made some poor decisions and Belle left him. He didn't tell anyone but that really broke him and when he came back into town he found his brother had cancer and his girl was in love with someone else. That being Ryan who she's now marrying… Belle cheated on Ryan with Cooper and she told him she was in love but recently told him it was a lie and she was paying him to get back at him for what happened a long time ago… It's literally killing him, he's angry and irritable. He doesn't have to be her boyfriend, he just wants to be in her life. He loves her a lot but she doesn't see that I guess,"

He had a banana that he was holding behind him, it hit that and defused, he was safe and dizzy.
Box luck, box luck, box luck! Nope! Banana, she groaned mentally and kept close behind Darren. If she could get a drift, then just maybe.

They were on the last lap and he could make out the finish line, he could do this… He got three bananas and placed two behind him hoping she'd hit it. He kept the last one for protection.
Lillian swerved out of the way, he wasn't going to beat her. She wouldn't let him. She got a mushroom and once in the clear she used it to get passed him.

He didn't care anymore, let her beat him, his head was throbbing.
Lillian watched as she won the race. She looked over to Darren, he wasn't looking to good, "Are you doing okay?"
Darren's hands dropped the remote but stayed in the air like he was holding it, his one hand was shaking violently as he stared non-responsively.
Lillian placed a gentle hand on his leg, she was really worried, "Darren?"
The shaking moved up his arm and involuntarily shook his head. It was like he couldn't even hear her.
