"Then I'll stay," she said, matter-of-factly.

"Are you sure. I don't know if you have a family or something. You don't have to stay if you don't want to,"

Lillian grinned, "Okay, okay."

Darren dug into his food the way he used to, like someone had been starving the boy for months.

Lillian was smiling as she started eating with him. She was glad his appetite was back.

Darren's food was gone fast, he inhaled it with no fear of um, exhaling it later.

Lillian laughed at how quickly the food was gone, "You really were hungry."

"No. I mean it when I say that I love it when you're here I just want to make sure you don't feel obligated to do so,"

"I don't mind staying," she replied softly.

Cooper shook his head and pulled her into a sudden tight hug. Everyday that passed he became more cemented in the idea that he was to die the next, she didn’t think like that. She stuck around like they had the forever he wanted them to.

Lillian laughed at how quickly the food was gone, "You really were hungry."

“Really. How did you figure that out?” He smiled as the sarcasm echoed in his tone.

“I don’t know,” Lillian echoed back. She was grinning too.

I honestly don’t know, I really should be asleep.

Right…. also I keep trying to sleep and keep failing. Fuck me I have to get up early tomorrow too.

Fleur hugged him back and kissed his neck gently. "It's going to be okay," she whispered, not sure whether she was trying to convince Cooper or herself. She really did love him with all of her heart, even though she knew he could never love her as much as she hoped he would.

Somewhere deep down, Cooper loved Fleur more than she thought, he could feel it but everytime he needed it the truss would push it down with thoughts of how he missed Belle, memories would flash through his vision and tear him up. But then, when he was broken, here she was to help him. “I love you,” he whimpered.

“I don’t know,” Lillian echoed back. She was grinning too.
