"Did you make him?" Beau asked as he glanced down at the dragon-like figure, wishing that he could conjure something like that. Even though he looked almost vicious, the small dragon seemed to like Vien a lot.
"Did you make him?" Beau asked as he glanced down at the dragon-like figure, wishing that he could conjure something like that. Even though he looked almost vicious, the small dragon seemed to like Vien a lot.
Vien shook his head. "No, Baal is my f-familiar," he responded. The small dragon nodded its head smugly. "When I first got my magic, all I could do was summon small things, or things already in the area. If I did too much, I made myself p-pass out."
"I could barely walk for a few days the first time I used my magic," Beau mumbled as he looked towards the dragon next to Vien, a small smile crossing his face. He scolded himself mentally for mumbling since it was a habit that he was trying to get rid of. Though, having a familiar seemed like it would be fun. Beau began to think of one he would like, hoping that it would have white hair or something like him.
"What's your m-magic?" Vien asked curiously, tilting his head interestedly as he spoke. It was something he tended to do a lot when he was confused or interested, almost like an owl. "I never asked you what you d-did."
"I can invade people's minds and such," Beau mumbled, shrugging as a small smile crossed his face as he saw Vien tilt his head to the side. He thought it was adorable, even though he tried to make himself stop smiling. "Alter memories, control others, and talk to a few spirits…" He added, trailing off as he thought towards the spirits. He used to have one named Aristotle who would speak in his head, though he wasn't even close to the philosopher, especially in intelligence. "It's also why I have white hair. It used to be brown, but it started to fade. Almost as if the color was leaking."
“That’s…That’s really cool, actually,” Vien said with a smile. “Ooh, do you think you’d be able to talk to Baal since he’s a spirit?” he asked excitedly while the dragon in his lap turned to look at Beau
Beau leaned forward again as he studied the dragon, nodding after a small pause. "Just give me a few moments," He mumbled softly as he closed his eyes. His mind started to feel a little airy and clear as he looked for a connection with Baal. After a few moments, Beau found it and opened his eyes, his hair and grey-blue eyes a bit lighter than usual.
Baal tilted his head curiously as he realized he had connected with Beau. “Hello,” he said, leaning a little towards Beau as he spoke
Hello. Baal, right? Beau answered as he watched the small dragon lean towards him. He could see a few faint white wisps stretch between the two as if it was showing Beau who he was connected to.
(Hhh gtg)
(See ya!)
(Back for a few)
Baal nodded, four beady white eyes fixing on Beau. “You’re Beau, correct? You seem to be the only one who hasn’t made Vien upset,” he said, shifting a little in Vien’s lap
(Missed quite a bit someone mind catching me up from the last two pages?)
(Not a lot. I'm not sure what the others are up to, but Vien and Beau are just talking.)
Beau nodded in response as he studied the small dragon, a few wisps of white smoke moving around his vision. Though only he had learned from past experiences that no one else could see them. "He's also the only one who hasn't run away from me yet," Beau answered, a little unsure of what to say in response to that comment. He was the only one that hadn't made Vien upset?
“Don’t tell him I said it, but I’m pretty sure he kind of likes you, too. If I remember correctly, the only reason he let you share the room at first was because you looked like you wouldn’t hurt him. He also likes your hair,” Baal chirped
Beau glanced up at Vien and willed his face not to turn red, although the other boy seemed a little oblivious to what they were saying. "Oh, uh, Vien's really nice too…" Beau answered, though even if he was speaking into someone's mind, his words still came out as stammers. "I-I like him a bit too."
“That’s great!” Baal exclaimed, a puff of happy, starry smoke escaping his mouth. “Vien’s got a friend! Vien’s got a friend!” they said, turning a few circles in Vien’s lap happily
Beau watched the dragon run around in Vien's lap, a small laugh escaping his lips. "Does he usually not have friends?" He asked curiously as he glanced up at Vien for a few moments. "He looks rather likable."
Vien tilted his head in confusion when Beau looked over at him. He couldn’t hear them, so he wasn’t sure why Baal was so happy or why Beau was looking at him like that. Baal finally sat back down, wingarms flapping excitedly. “No, Vien doesn’t have any friends except for you. Birmingham was mean to him, and he’s scared of people now.”
"I see. Well, I'm his friend now, and I promise that I'll be nice to him." Beau answered as he looked down at the excited dragon-like figure, a small smile crossing his lips. He gaze flicked up towards Vien for a short moment before he looked back down towards Baal quickly.
Baal began to turn circles happily in Vien’s lap again. “Vien’s got a friend! Vien’s got a friend!” they said as they jumped around happily. They stopped for a moment, only to start licking Vien’s cheek. They boy laughed, petting Baal’s head as he smiled
"Well, do you have anything else that you want to tell me?" Beau asked, laughing softly as he watched Baal jump around in Vien's lap. He already felt a little lightheaded from how much effort was going into maintaining the link, the color in his eyes and hair draining even more.
Baal shook their head. “Nope. I’m just happy Vien’s got a friend,” they responded, noticing how lightheaded Beau was beginning to get
"I'm going to…stop the connection now," Beau answered, losing his train of thought halfway through. This might have been a new record for staying in connection with a spirit.
Baal nodded, curling up in Vien's lap again. Vien tilted his head confusedly as he looked at Beau. What was wrong with him? "Are you o-okay?" he asked slowly
