"What's the pattern like?" Ash asked curiously as Jordan settled into the chair.
"Huh? You mean the tattoo?" He asked Ash, crossing his arms over his chest to try to hide the two scars.
"Yeah." Ash noted Jordan crossing his arms over his chest self-consciously, so he turned around and pretended to look around the shop.
He looked at Ash for a moment, then laid himself down on the table-like thing, exposing his back but hiding his chest. "Sort of like the outline of a phoenix," he said. "But the lines of its tail branch out to cover my entire lower back."
Ash nodded. "Very cool." He picked up a glowing tube and rolled it around in his hand.
"Yeah." He let out a sigh, letting himself relax. His eyes closed and his thoughts wandered.
Ash wandered the store, noticing some nice designs and cool objects. He also saw a painting hanging near the back. "Hey, Zoe? Who painteed this?"
"Hmm? Oh… my former boyfriend. Things… didn't go well between us, and we had to separate. But I remember the day we made this: he and I used his plant and my drawing magic to create a living tree in a painting,"
Jordan perked up. "Really? That sounds awesome."
"Yeah…" Zoe lingered next to a charcoal drawing of her and a smiling boy in a polo shirt, looking at it wistfully. "Well, no use dwelling on the past! Let's get started!"
Jordan tensed, remembering that this would be painful. "Um, yeah let's get it over with."
Zoe brought out a large black case from behind the desk, smiling evilly. "Don't worry, it will hurt. A lot," (Can we skip the process because I have no idea how to make a tattoo?)
(Sure)
Jordan got up when he was done, bandaged and wincing in pain. "Thanks," he said, handing her some money.
