Dorian nodded, leading the Jay through the darkness, “There’s one that leads to the stables not far from here.”
Dorian nodded, leading the Jay through the darkness, “There’s one that leads to the stables not far from here.”
“Awesome!” Jay made sure he always knew where Dorian was or he would end up getting lost.
Dorian was them through the passageways, avoiding the occasional guard. Soon they came to a dead end, but when Dorian pulled on a hidden lever, the wall opened up.
Jay looked around cautiously, gripping Dorian’s arm out of nervousness and jumped every time he heard a noise.
Dorian smiled slightly, pulling Jay close to his body as they walked.
Jay smiled and followed him closely through the hidden hallway, “How much farther?”
“Not much, it’s just round here.” Dorian replied, feeling the wall with his hand.
Jay nodded, reaching the end of her hall, "Finally!"
Dorian eventually came to a small lever and pulled. The wall slowly slid open, revealing the outdoors.
Jay looked into the dark moonlit sky and smiled. Then he started looking for the stables, "We should get a horse and go through the woods."
Dorian nodded, leading the way by following an old path he knew, "Good idea. There's a small twon not far from here, we can rest there."
“Okay,” Jay followed him trying to stay quiet so no one would know they were there.
It wasn’t long before they were at the stables. Luckily, no one was around and Dorian knew how to saddle up his own black made, Knox. He got to work quickly.
Jay watched him and all the other horses in the stable, he had only fed and cleaned before. So watching Dorian saddle Knox up was interesting to watch.
Dorian saddled his horse up quickly with expert skill. Even though he only had to do this a few times in the past couple years, he knew how to do it swiftly. Soon, he was motioning for Jay to come over.
Jay walked over and viewed the large horse, “So how do I get on?”
“Have you never ridden a horse before?” Dorian raised a brow.
Jay shook his head, “No, I’ve only cleaned them before.”
“Okay, I’ll help you,” Dorian places his hands on Jay’s waist gently, “Place your left foot on the stirrup,” He instructed, “And place your hands on the top of the saddle.”
Jay did as told and waited for further instructions.
“On three, jump and swing your right leg over the horse, okay?”
Jay quickly nodded and did it, he tightly gripped the saddle making sure he didn't fall off, "O-okay I'm on…"
“Good,” Dorian quickly climbed on afterwards, “Hold on tight.” He grabbed the reins and kicked Knox into motion.
Jay did, he lurched forward when they started to move but he regained his balance still nervous of being caught or falling off
Dorian half wrapped his arms around Jay to keep him steady as the horse flew threw the darkness, missing trees left right and center. Hopefully the inn would be open.
