“Guess who won?” Jayden asked in a sing-song voice.
“Guess who won?” Jayden asked in a sing-song voice.
Bri pouted and playfully punched his shoulder. "It's been a long time since I've played!" she justified.
Jayden chuckled. “I told you I was good.”
"You were quite good," she admitted reluctantly. "There has to be some sport in which we could rematch."
Meara stood up and cleared her throat awkwardly. "So… What should we do now?"
Jayden smiled proudly. “Well if you want to win in that rematch, it shouldn’t be track and field.”
"I don't know. What do you want to do?" Isaac asked Meara.
"Then let's make lasagna!" Eve shouted behind her with excitement.
Alex shook his head in amusement. "What's gotten you so excited?" He went to the fridge and started taking out ingredients.
Jayden smiled proudly. “Well if you want to win in that rematch, it shouldn’t be track and field.”
Bri blew a strand of hair out of her face. "OK. I'm not too good at running anyway. How about… soccer?"
“That literally involves running Bri.”
"I mean I'm not good at track running," she corrected, blush rising in her cheeks.
"I'm just excited to start cooking!" Eve almost sang as she stood behind him, helping him with the ingredients he'd pulled out of the fridge.
Jayden chuckled, “We shall play soccer then.”
Jayden chuckled, “We shall play soccer then.”
She nodded. "OK, cool. There's a field near my house, we could go there?" she suggested.
"I'm just excited to start cooking!" Eve almost sang as she stood behind him, helping him with the ingredients he'd pulled out of the fridge.
He laughed loudly and brushed the hair out of her face delicately. Then, heart pounding, he turned back around and went to one of the cupboards.
Jayden chuckled, “We shall play soccer then.”
She nodded. "OK, cool. There's a field near my house, we could go there?" she suggested.
“Sure. Don’t be upset if I beat you though.” Jayden joked.
She shook her head. "Nuh-uh you don't. I've been playing since I was 3. My dad's a coach."
Eve froze after Alex brushed the hair out of her face, her mind swirling. She shook herself out of it and continued to help him get out the ingredients they would need.
He piled the ingredients onto the counter. "Want an apron?" he asked bashfully.
“Well poo. Unfair advantage here.”
"Well I hadn't played Lasertag in a long time," she pointed out.
“You didn’t tell me! Otherwise I would’ve done something different.”
He piled the ingredients onto the counter. "Want an apron?" he asked bashfully.
"Yeah probably." Eve giggled.
“You didn’t tell me! Otherwise I would’ve done something different.”
She laughed. "Chill, it's all good. I'm over it." She paused. "Mostly cause I'm going to win this round."
He piled the ingredients onto the counter. "Want an apron?" he asked bashfully.
"Yeah probably." Eve giggled.
He ran up the stairs to the main kitchen and grabbed two aprons. He leaned on the counter and breathed in deeply to collect himself.
