Vera blushed deep red, the awkwardness of the situation mingling with the dread and fear of having to move again, to be adopted out of this foster home all over again.
"Eryon, she's your new sister," their mom smiled. "You'll be sharing the room."
The back of Vera’s neck prickled and she rubbed her arm uncomfortably. “Um, could I please be excused so I can finish unpacking my stuff?” She asked nervously, sensing that Ervin needed to talk to her mom.

"Course," their mom grinned. Vera left the room, while Eryon got her answers. She was a foster child who'd be living with them. Eryon felt strange about having a sister, but went to help make the girl feel more at home.
Up in her new room, Vera struggled to hold back tears as she unloaded her 17 notebooks, all filled with self-written poetry and fractured storylines. She reached into her bag for her sketchbook, and her hand brushed against a small ornate box. Pausing, she lifted it from the bag and opened it, tears overflowing from her eyes.
Eryon had come in silently and placed a hand on Vera's shoulder, concerned for her.
"What's wrong?" She asked slowly.
Maybe Tay can be a high school student who lives in the apartment next to them or above them?

The next day Eryon and Vera drove separately to school, not yet used to having a sister. Eryon sat down in Chem once again, waiting for Akushi to show up.

(It's the easiest way to re-include everyone in the plot. So I made it so that it's the next day at school)
"Hey, Eryon! We still on for tonight?" Akushi approached Eryon who was standing by another girl
"You betcha, Kush." She smiled slyly.
Akushi laughed "Real cute. You need a ride?"
"Nah I'll take my Harley, thanks." She jangled her keys.
