Dani dragged the others into another hallway. "Okay. Let me explain. What is in my flat is what is called a Black Death. They are very dangerous and painful. Under no circumstances are you to touch it. Got it?"

Macha nodded. “Let’s get out of here then.” She hesitated. “Does this mean we can’t go to the ball?”

"No,we can go to the ball, we just have to get rid of this thing first. Luckily for us, it's hide is pretty easy to penetrate." Dani explained.

Macha grinned, pulling out her spear. “Will this do the job?” By her side, Rhea nickered nervously.

"I sure hope so." Dan said, grinning back.

(Aha I just remembered I can still use Kata's perspective while @hope Berge is gone)
Kata paced in place, sniffing the air. The scent was all over the place, making it hard to pin down. She had been forced out of the room like everybody else, much to her chagrin. She could still smell it though.

"So… what exactly does this.. black death… do?" Sky asked

Dani scooped Kata up and rubbed her between the ears comfortingly. "Shh. It's okay Kata."

"It sucks you into your worst memories and your greatest fears. In a way, it's kind of like a Death Eater. (HP reference XD) It's worse than physical pain. And that's saying something, considering." Dani explained.

Peter held onto Skylar's arm, remaining quiet.

Kata purred at being pet, and softly nuzzled Dani.

Fear flickered in Macha’s golden eyes fur a moment, but she sniffed it out. “I’ll kill it.”, she sad determinedly. She wasn’t going to watch another one of her friends get hurt.

Skylar hesitated. "….Oh." she said.

"I can help." Sky offered, looking at Macha.

Kata jumped out of Dani's arms and grew to full size, she didn't like the idea of being caught off guard. She looked around and, not seeing any threats, proceeded to nuzzle Dani again.

Macha tightened her fists around the spear, insides ravaged by internal conflict.She finally shook her head. “I’ve watched too many of my friends get liked while I somehow escaped unscathed. It’s my turn to finally do something.” Years sprang to her eyes, but she forced them down.
