"Yeah." She sat up and took the package. "Where's Destroy?"
"Yeah." She sat up and took the package. "Where's Destroy?"
"Not sure. I think he only just left. Maybe he's out hunting for himself?" Vin pulled out a battered notebook and started absently flipping through it as he ate. "Hopefully he'll be back soon, we should hit the road before much longer."
Ellen nodded. "So… what was it you said you were?"
"Hm? Oh. Hapbringer. Not a perfect example of one, admittedly, but hey, I could be worse." He went to the front of his notebook and flipped it around to show Ellen the photo taped there. "That's my little sister, Mia, back when we lived near the Grand Canyon. She rocks." A dark-haired teenage girl stood grinning at the camera, one foot hovering over the edge of a steep cliff. The photo was old and blurry, but it was still possible to make out the feathers braided in her hair and the rows of friendship bracelets on both the girl's wrists. "I miss her a lot, she kept me in my place back before the war."
Ellen smiled. "Nice. So where do Hapbringers originate from?"
"Um, so, we technically come from a different dimension. It's called Uarilon, and it's ruled by our mom, whose name is Ennienwin. She's like a goddess or something, I don't really know. Awesome lady, but we don't talk to her much. The whole reason we're here on Earth, as far as we can tell, is because we accidentally stumbled here when we were kids and couldn't come back. Mia and I came together, but usually it takes forever for Hapbringers to find each other. I'm lucky to know a ton of my siblings. Oh, and I don't think we have a father. Pretty sure Mom just created us somehow."
"Huh." Ellen chuckled. "What's Uarilon like?"
(Gtg eat)
(Okay)
"Well….none of us really remembers, actually. A lot of us were really young when we came over, and anyway I think the memories fade extra fast. But I know it was really nice. I sometimes dream about it, I think, and they're always good dreams, but I can never remember what it was like when I wake up." Vin shrugged.
(off to bed, seeya tomorrow)
(turns out I don't have time tonight, sorry! I'll be here tomorrow night though)
(now I'm here ^^)
(to bed now, later)
(got a bit of time now if you do)
(nvm, gotta go)
(Hi. Sorry I haven't been getting back to you. School started for me and I'm trying to get adjusted to the schedule. See you soon!)
(hey, don't worry, that's understandable ^^ Glad to have you back! Do you still have time tonight?)
(I think I have like 20 minutes or so right now…)
Ellen nodded, standing up and stretching. "I wonder where the nearest town is." She muttered.
(shoot, and I just wasted ten of 'em T.T)
"Um…I'm guessing if we head downhill and follow the river we'll hit something eventually. I just wish Destroy would come back so we could get moving."
Ellen nodded, walking to the cave entrance. "I don't see him anywhere near."
Vin stuck his head into the daylight and cautiously called out. "Destroy? You out there somewhere?"
With a rustle, Destroy's head, in lion form, appeared from behind a fallen log. He had a rabbit hanging from his jaws. "What?"
(Shoot I gtg now)
"Mornin' Destroy." Ellen said. "We were just wondering where you were."
(Okie dokie)
"Mm" Destroy turned away. "Was hunting. Got you this." He chucked a small deer corpse at them.
"Oh," Vin said. "Um…thanks."
