"Thanks," Vin said.
"You'll need more sticks than that," Destroy noticed, and headed back outside. "I'll go get some."
"Thanks to you too," Vin called after him. "I don't know about you, Ellen, but I could get used to having a giant scary mom-friend like him hanging around."
Ellen grinned, nodding. "I wonder how the army found Destroy and the others?"
"Who knows…." Vin thought about it. "I hate to say it, but Deorns don't seem too bright. And those chemicals to keep them from changing form were pretty effective. So honestly as long as you were pretty clever, I'll bet it's not that hard to catch them."
(off to bed, seeya later ^^)
(I'm here for a while next)
(Actually nvm, I forgot tonight's movie night for us XD Sorry!)
Ellen nodded. "I'm still wondering how and where they found them."
"Yeah…He was pretty vague about where he lived…." Vin pulled up his collar and leaned against the cave wall. "I guess we can ask, when he gets back."
"Ask me what?" Destroy inquired, having just returned with a large armful of branches.
"Where did you live before the jarheads nabbed ya? I mean, Deorns aren't common knowledge where I'm from." Ellen said, pulling out her lighter. "Does anyone have paper for kindling?"
Destroy dropped the wood into a rough pile and held his hand out over it. A slow red flame appeared out of nowhere and latched onto the branches, crackling loudly. Destroy dusted some soot off his hand and sat with his back blocking the cold air from the cave entrance.
"I come from somewhere south of here," he said. "I dunno where we are now, so I don't know how far it is. My territory was part of a prairie with a river going through it. No humans for miles."
He shape shifts and has fire powers. What else? Ellen nodded, putting her lighter back into the bag. "Hmm. Tomorrow Vin and I should try and find a nearby town, and get map so we know where we are exactly."
(Aright)
"Yeah," Vin said. "We also need to find some civilian clothes so people don't know we're army dropouts. And some more food. And whatever else we don't have in our backpacks already."
(I'm back!)
Ellen murmured her agreement, pulling out her sleeping bag.
(Heyy! Unfortunately, I have to go to bed now ;-; but I'll see you tomorrow hopefully!)
Vin got out his as well and set up on the other side of the fire. In a matter of minutes, he was asleep. Destroy watched them with a slight frown, then shifted into a lion and curled up where he sat, also drifting off almost instantly. Soon the only sound was the fire and the two of them quietly breathing.
(See ya! Say hi to Holly for me!)
Ellen crawled into her sleeping bag, rolling onto her stomach. She glanced at the others and reached into her bag, pulling out a picture. "I hope I see you two soon." She whispered, looking down at the picture of her, her mother, and her twin sister.
(Back again! She says hi XD)
The night passed quietly and quickly. All too soon, sunlight was streaming in through the cave entrance. Vin slowly opened his eyes, wondering why it was so bright, and saw that Destroy was no longer there to keep the light from entering. Vin sat up, stoked the fire, and started rummaging loudly in his pack for something to eat.
Ellen opened her eyes and rolled onto her back, muttering groggily. "Mornin' Vin."
"Morning," he replied, and offered her a package of crackers. "Hungry?"
