As he spoke, a line of men and women came into view and stood facing the crowd. They wore uniforms with badges designating their higher rank, although something in their eyes clearly indicated they authority as well. One stepped forward and gestured toward the others. "These are your superior officers," he said. "General Langwater, Major Brom, Captains Inell and Parker…." The list went on, going slowly down the line. "….Lieutenant Sabrino of communications….." A dark-haired young man with a rather pinched face. "….and Sergeant Wood, our head tracker." At the end of the row, none other than Davy stood in dark camouflage, looking much more somber than when they'd last seen him.
"Woah," Vin whispered. "Davy's an officer. I never would have guessed."
"Me neither." Ellen whispered back.
(Well we have to go for the evening, see you tomorrow hopefully ^^)
(Hey, so I'm really sorry about this, but Imma have to leave this rp, at least for now. I'm feeling pretty depressed right now, and I'm having a hard time doing much. Again, I'm super sorry, but I highly encourage you and Dusty to continue this <3 Feel free to take it in any way you want :D)
(Hugs Holly I will indeed still be here if you're into this, Lavvy)
(Alright Holly. I understand. I'm ready to RP if you are Dusty!)
(shoot uhhh one sec I have to eat supper real quick but I'll be right there! ^^; )
(Thank-you, that's appreciated :) I hope you guys have fun! C:)
(okay I'm back now, sorry for the wait! Still there?)
(ey sweet ^^)
As the speaker droned on, Davy's eyes wandered over the crowd until he found their group. His expression didn't change, but the corners of his eyes crinkled up in a hidden smile. Then he looked away.
"Once this announcement is over," the speaker continued, "You all will find the barracks marked with your group numbers and put your possessions there. Supper will be directly afterward, then bed. Training and mission briefings will be at five o'clock tomorrow morning. You are now all dismissed."
Ellen frowned when she spotted Davy gazing at them. I don't care if that man has a secret way out. I don't trust him.
As the speaker finished and the crowd began to disperse, she turned to Vin. "What was our number again?"
Vin squinted like he was digging around in his brain with a toothbrush. "Ummmm, 300. So we'll probably be somewhere near the end. Let's get unpacked quick, I'm starving."
Ellen nodded. They found their barracks and started unpacking. Ellen pulled out a small box, spare clothes, and a knife from her bag.
On the other side of the partition wall, Vin pulled out his own clothes, an improbable amount of snacks and dried food, and a small photograph, which he set carefully under his pillow. "Say," he called to Ellen. "You got any good cubbyholes over there on your side? I've got too much food to hide here, and I'll let you have some if you need it."
"Yeah, sure." Ellen replied.
(I gtg soon dammit)
(That's fine. I'll try to be around more regularly so we can do this better lol)
Vin came over with an armful of edibles. "They don't care much for privacy here, do they? This wall is a poor excuse for one. I think I'll hang my blanket over the doorway, if you don't mind."
(I've got a wee bit of time tonight if you're here, I'll be on for roughly the next hour or so)
(I am here! Did I miss you?)
"Don't mind at all." Ellen said.
(Hi, I'm afraid I can't be on right now, but if you give me another hour-ish then I'll be back for a while ^^)
Vin took off his boots, shoved his bed across the room so he could stand on it, and began to pry up the top board of the door frame. "Got anything I can hammer with? If not I'll just use my knife pommel."
