The store owner allowed me to set up a study room in his vase. At first, he was a bit skeptical, but they all are. My family had forbidden me from leaving our home for so long, but eventually they figured that as long as I was careful, I could explore the world. They didn't think I would get kidnapped and turned into a scientific experiment. This small town contained plenty of people like me, plenty of animals like me too. There was just the chance of getting killed.
The store owner, who's name was Arthur Robinson, managed an antique store. There was also some foods to buy, but the store was mostly filled with dusty mirrors and worn-out dolls with missing limbs and golden bowls and polishes vases carved with all sorts of designs. People came here to sell, and people even came here to buy.
I noticed that every time I stayed here, there would always be a rather large purple vase sitting on the top shelf, untouched. Mr. Robinson agreed to let me move into the vase as long as it wasn't bought by anyone. I simply needed a quiet, relaxing place to study business. My home was always loud with the sounds of crickets and birds and snakes - oh the snakes. Although it was rather spacious, and quite clean from my maid, I couldn't stand the noise. I can never find sound-canceling headphones either, they're never made for me.
One day, I heard the bell on the door sound. I jumped up to my ladder and climbed out of the vase, wondering who was in the store. A girl who looked about my age whom I've never seen before walked in. She had the whitest hair, which stopped abruptly at the roots, transforming into a brown color. Although most everyone was taller than me, she was especially tall. I also noticed a mole on her right cheek.
"Welcome! You must be new in town!" Mr. Robinson crooned. Interested, I slid down my vase in hopes she might notice me.
i immediately notice the lil boi on the shelf
"ay fok is that"
My eyes scan the street, all of the colorful and unique buildings decorating the scene with their contrasting aesthetics. This is my fourth street I've been down. I know I'm lost, but I cannot give up now. If she returns home without a nice vase for my aunt's flowers, she'll be furious. My eyes fall on the heavenly sign that spelled the words, "Arthur's Antiques" in the old time-y font with the maroon and gold colors, leaving me standing in awe at merely the entirety of the building. I smile breathlessly as I carefully enter the building, the friendly bell ringing as my boots hit the wooden floor. I'm greeted with a cherry-nosed man who seemed focused on painting a miniature table. At the sound of the door closing, I felt the man, presumably M. Arthur, move his eyes to find me. A bright grin spread across his face as he welcomed me happily, letting me know that I may help myself to anything I'd like.
However, I felt another pair of eyes on me. Which is strange, because there was no one else in the store; or so I believed.
"My aunt Peggy is looking for a very nice vase. Do you have any recommendations?"
"I have a various selection of wonderfully crafted vases, what is your aunt Peggy's favorite color?"
I tap a finger to my chin, deep in thought as I remember how often she wears purple dresses and hats.
"I think it's purple! A royal purple, I believe."
I noticed a hint of hesitation in M. Arthur's next moves as he motions toward a shelf of vases, but my eyes immediately fell on one specific vase.
"Does that little ornament come with the vase?" I say, pointing to the large purple vase at the top of the shelf.
I frowned.
ornamenet> ? big bitch.
The girl approached my precious vase. "Does that little ornament come with the vase?"
I raised my eyebrow and let out a chuckle. I wave to theriw feiph3tv95-g\0[

The girl approached my precious vase. "Does that little ornament come with the vase?"
I raised my eyebrow and let out a chuckle. I wave to the chick, wondering if she would refrain from buying it if she knew I had set up my room here. After all, it wasn't like she would let me live at her place in her vase. Vases are meant to hold things.
M. Robinson smiled. "He is not an ornament. He's one of them!"
"I'm Kade!" I chimed, holding my hand out.
My heart stopped.
I died byeOKAY SORRY
Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing? I've never actually seen one of those guys before.
"K-hello…uh, nice-nice to meet…you…Kade."
I stutter out, eyeing back to M. Arthur as if he'll provide a safety net for me.
"Is that your vase?" I whisper, pointing to the purple vase he leaned against. He had a sort of snarky energy about him, emanating confidence and bde if u get my drif-ANYWAY
I rolled my eyes. "You don't have to whisper, silly goose. My ear drums won't be blasted out, we've adapted."
I stood up and put a hand on my vase. "Yes, this is mine," I said proudly, debating on claiming it wasn't for sale. Too bad M. Robinson was here. "It's for sale, sadly." My voice purposefully switched to a solemn tone, matching the puppy eyes I mastered a couple years back. \
The girl seemed rather timid and afraid, which made me feel bad. I'm good kid! I swear! Just don't take me god damn feet away from me goddamn boot- I just like messing around, that's all!
hey there slash, where did you come from
"Well…" I began, my eyes shifting around the store to see if there were any purple vases available so I wouldn't take this boy's residence.
"My aunt is quite a grumpy lady, and if I brought home any other colored vase, she wouldn't be too happy." After scanning the area, I noticed that Kade's purple vase is unique. I felt bad, but I'm sure Kade could find another vase, right? Maybe even a cool looking box? Maybe I should just buy a different vase. I'm sure my aunt would understand, right? If I came up with a reason she'd believe?
I frowned. "I have an idea! Buy the vase, and you help me find another place for me to set up study. Is that chill?" I climbed back up my vase and started packing my things into a bag. I had the suitcase ready, just in case there was a buyer. I put my journals and textbooks in, my pencils and other things. Then, I threw the suitcase out of the vase. My head popped out of the opening. "Will you help me take my table out, um, what was your name again? Did you ever tell me?"
I watched in awe as he packed up, the wonder in my eyes growing brighter as he hops out of the vase.
"Will you help me take my table out, um, what was your name again? Did you ever tell me?" I snap back into reality as I tilt my head up at him, widening my eyes.
"Elizabeth. Uh, I happen to have a few leftover boxes in my house, actually, along with a very nice bag." I pause, realizing what I just suggested, but too nervous to back out of it, so I remained silent in wait for his response.
"Elizabeth… that's a neat name! A bag you say? What kind? Are you sure your aunt would let some boy like me set up my study room in your house?" I ruffle my hair, realizing I didn't even ask where Elizabeth lived. M. Robinson's store was relatively close to my residence, but perhaps Elizabeth is not. Especially knowing that she can walk meters in the time I've walked a centimeter! Nonetheless, I needed a quiet place to learn my future job. She did live somewhere rather quiet, right?
I studied the giant curiously, the thought of having a true friend was enticing. All the adventures we could go on!
I shrug my shoulders at Kane's moderately concern-filled remark, thinking about how little my aunt actually spends in the house, and that when she is in the house, she's scolding me for things I didn't do.
"It's not like she would notice. Plus, you're quiet, right? She'd never know." I hoped my nonchalant voice covered my internal excitement on the potential exciting events that could play out from my new roommate.
"If you need some assistance with your things, I could help, my house is a bit of a walk from here."
I smiled from ear-to-ear. "Just let me stay in the vase until we get to your house. I can't exactly walk at your pace." Elizabeth nodded in agreement and took the vase, with me in it, to the check-out counter. "I'll be sure to visit you, M. Robinson! Thank you for everything!" I shake his finger, already missing him.
"Enjoy your new place, Kade," he says with a warm smile.
Elizabeth and I head on our way to her home, vase held carefully in both of her arms. I held tightly onto the rim, my feet tightly wrapping around the rungs of my ladder. Being so close to her, I could smell the warm vanilla radiating off of her. It was so strong, I tried not to sneeze.
"So, where do you live?"
I smile as we leave the store, the contrasting atmosphere of the rest of the street hitting us in the face the moment we walk out the door, as Kade looks up at me.
"So where do you live?"
My eyes trail upwards as I try to recount the instructions in my head.
"Four blocks down after the first left turn and then three blocks after the fifth right…I think."
I mutter, counting the blocks on my fingers as we walk down the street.
"Four blocks down after the first left turn and then three blocks after the fifth right… I think," she replies with a bit of uncertainty. I realize how far that was from my own home, but I made a promise to let my parents know what was going on.
I looked at her, bewildered. "You think?"
Soon, Elizabeth and I arrived at her home. It was much much much larger than M. Robinson's store, that was most definite. I stare in awe, wondering about all the places I could explore. "With a house like this," I said, turning back to face the vanilla girl, "your aunt would never even discover me." I turned back to scope out the area. "There are no snakes here, right?"
i close the door to the snake closet
My eyes trail upwards in slight confusion.
"None that I'm aware of." I murmur, smiling at him as his eyes wander around the walls of the house as we walk in. Chandeliers spotted the ceiling and a beautiful wooden wall surrounded the front area. I start walking down the hall.
"This is the way to my room. It's a bit lacking in decorations, but I think it looks just fine." I chime as we make our way past a handful of doors.
She strolled into her room. If there was a time I ever felt small, right now was especially that time.
She strolled into her room. If there was a time I ever felt small, right now was especially that time.
It was a classy black and white themed room. She was right, there weren't many things on the walls or anywhere, really, but I figured it was better than if her room was all pink and filled to the brim with pink clothes and decorations and stuffed animals everywhere. Girls are so weird. This isn't a call out post about Jenny.
"I think it's great!" I chirped, excitement rushing through my limbs at the thought of exploring this whole place. Elizabeth set me and the vase down on her black desk. I jumped out with my suitcase. "What are the flowers even for?"
