"Alrighty so what's the dealio?" I asked so I would be properly prepared.

"Well………………………I kind of tripped and fell on my face at school today in front of my crush……and my friends gave him my number and now………….."

(It's kind of…………..but instead of him texting me by phone he ran up to me after school ended and made sure I was okay. And the should I assume you're dead? is what he asked one of my friends when he couldn't find me……….but instead of you're it was she, of course)

"He asked me if he should just assume that I'm dead now because I haven't answered him yet. Which would be funny in another situation."

"Hmm alright. I have an idea. Say 'I'm alive and well. How you doin?'. Then maybe he'll tell you about his day or something. Striking a beautiful, meaningful conversation." I shrugged. "Just try it."
