I walked up to the library and as I walked through the door I tripped over my own feet. But I couldn't fall like a normal person. That would be too normal. Instead, I stumbled for like 20 feet before finally tumbling into the side of a bookshelf. "Welp. At least I'm alive." I said to myself dusting off my pants as I stood up. I did a double take. The bookshelf was tipped over. And next to it, staring at me was some kids. "Oh dear me." I muttered nervously.

(Literally.)

Scarlet abruptly looked up when she heard another crashing noise. Three clumsy children. She thought, she felt a little bad for them. How embarrassing was it? Really embarrassing. She got pulled out of her thinking world when her phone buzzed again.

Scarlet instantly forgot about the crashing bookshelf and the three people.

"So… Why's the bookshelf tipped over? Are all of you okay? Please tell me I wasn't the one who tipped it over. I swear it was like this when I came in.." I rambled on trying to redeem myself.

I raised my head from the table and stood up. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked, concerned.

Of course, my book-life was interrupted by a loud tune coming from my purse. I sat up straight, blushing, then frantically tried to silence my stupid flip-phone. After fumbling with it for a moment, I finally pressed the right button and it shut up.

I pulled my phone out of my purse and checked to see who texted me. When I noticed it was my friend, I sighed in relief, having thought it was my stepdad telling me that I needed to come home.

ARI: I'm at the library rn.
JEN: Oh, so you don't want to know what my brother just told me?
ARI: What? What are you talking about?

(Are you talking to me, dear child?)

(Why yes thank you for noticing)

"Yup. I'm fine. Happens all the time. So this wasn't me…?" I replied casually. "Oh! How could I forget my manners? I'm Hope."

I smiled. "No yeah that was me. I'm Natasha. Or Tasha. Or Tash. Whatever suits you. Nice to meet you Hope. You name is really pretty by the way……….and now I'm rambling……..sorry. It happens sometimes."

"Same here. Don't worry about it, Tasha. My friend's name is Natasha too! So that's cool…" I said, trailing off.

I laughed. Then my phone beeped again. I picked up my phone again.
Landen: So should I just assume that you died or…………………
I bit my lip. "I am not good at this." I said sitting back down, my fingers dancing over the keys.

I didn't want to be rude but I could tell by the way her fingers trembled while she typed and how she bit her lip that she was nervous. There were only two possibilities for who she could be texting. A crush or parents. "Do you need help?" I asked awkwardly when she said she wasn't good at it.

I picked up the books and went to the counter to check them out. At first, I was not paying very close attention to what was happening around me, and didn't initially notice the pile of fallen books at a nearby shelf.

"Yes please." I squeaked. "Seeing as my friends aren't here and my sister would just take the phone from me and text something extremely embarrassing, I really need help."

"I'm probably not much better than you but maybe I can lend a little help. A crush I'm assuming?" I said cautiously sitting down next to her.
