Bastian had refused to sleep this time. He was far too worried about Halo to let himself sleep

Halo slowly opens his eyes, groaning in pain. What had happened?

Bastian's eyes flew open when he heard Halo groan. "Halo? Halo, are you okay?" he asked quickly

Halos eyes were a deep golden color, his hair slowly turning white from it's origional blonde state. He blinks rapidly. "Bastian?" He croaked.

Bastian watched the change wide-eyed for a moment. "Oh my god, Halo," he breathed out. "Shit, let me get you some water. Poncho!" he called out, not daring to leave Halo's side

Halo looks around blearily. "Bastian? What happened? Why are you panicking?" He asks, growing concerned.

"Because you're-Because you're alive! I'm not panicking, I'm just really happy," Bastian rambled on, looking a mix between stressed and giddy

Halo smiles softly, hugging Bastian. "I feel… better. What happened?" He asks, looking up at the other.

"You blacked out. I thought you were dead, but then you woke up. And god, you…I don't think I've ever been more happy to see gold eyes like that," Bastian breathed out. He practically gave Halo a bear hug, grinning uncontrollably

Halo smiles, leaning up and kissing Bastian quickly. "I'm okay. I'm alive. I'm right here, Bastian." He whispers against the others lips.

"I know," Bastian murmured before kissing him desperately, his arms wrapped tightly around the other's body and holding him close to his chest

Halo was crying with relief. He was staying with Bastian. He kissed back with just as much desperation, "I love you. I love you." He whispers over and over again.

"I know, I know baby, I love you so much," Bastian murmured, over and over frantically as he kissed Halo desperately. He was overjoyed he was staying with Halo, and almost couldn't believe it

Halo cries happily, holding onto the other. "I love you! I love you so much."

"I know, god, I know," Bastian choked out, struggling to hold back tears as he gripped Halo tightly

Halo smiles, hugging Bastian. He just wanted to stay there, in the warmth of the other, just sitting there happily.

"How about we go home and have a little celebration, huh? I'll get you cake and everything," Bastian suggested, grinning like a little kid as he spoke

Halo laughs, "I think that sounds wonderful. He perks. "Oh god. Avie and Monty?"

"They're okay, we've only been gone a few days. Though Monty will need to be fed when we get back," Bastian assured him

Halo nods and sighs, kissing Bastian again. "Oh my god. I'm so happy right now."

"Okay, we're going home. You're good and we're hopping in the teleporter and going home to celebrate," Bastian said, scooping Halo up effortlessly before jogging down the stairs

Halo nods, laughing as he holds onto Bastian, giggling softly. He was alive and with Bastian.

Bastian all but jogged down the stairs, grinning like a madman. He said quick goodbyes to Poncho and Llano before going over to a strange disk in the floor. He stepped onto it and suddenly they were back in the apartment

Halo smiles, kissing Bastian happily as he was held by the other. "I love you." They were greeted by a happy barking. Halo laughs and giggles, "Hey Avie!"
