“Yeah, but it’s helping!” Miles chuckled.
“Yeah, but it’s helping!” Miles chuckled.
Sienne walked up to Ari, "Hey, Ari, do you think you could tell me what's wrong?" she signed, then put a hand on her shoulder.
"Thanks!" Viva laughed, looking over at an irate Chiron. It was the first time she'd seen the usually calm centaur lose control.
Miles looked around at the rowdy campers. He hadnt used his powers on a group this big, but he was going to try. “Everyone, be quiet!” he shouted in a voice that didn’t sound much like his.
(I’ve got to go cuz we’re about to watch black panther. I should be back in about 2 hours)
Viva opened her mouth, but no sound came out. "Nice," she mouthed at Miles.
Chiron looked relieved. "Thank you, Miles, at least somebody here seems to be listening. Now, campers, it is of paramount importance that we decide who will be leaving on the quest immediately, so, if you believe you should be going on the quest, or if you have had a dream or an omen, please come to the front of the campfire and stand here."
(k bye Charlie K. i gtg to have lunch but i'll be back soon)
(See ya)
Lewis had shut off the Iris message and began to feel strange- in a dreamlike state almost, but like he was spinning or falling. He stumbled into a shower stall, afraid he was going to faint, and perhaps he did, but what happened next was so vivid. He was on the stone floor in the middle of a place he did not recognize. He noticed a sigil drawn around where he lay. Upon further examination, he realized it was a pentagram, something closely associated with dark magic. Lewis heard clacking footsteps that he recognized as a woman wearing heels, and he could see the shadows moving closer.
"Mum," Lewis whispered. He didn't have to see her face yet to know.
Hecate showed herself, and Lewis was surprised at how much he took after her.
"I think you know why I'm here."
"You're not supposed to interact with us… are you? Yet, I'm very grateful."
Hecate held out her hand to help him up, but when he went to grab it, he found that his hand went through hers; she was just an illusion- nothing unexpected for a magic goddess.
"You're not really here."
Hecate nodded. "Well, my son, it's time you show those Olympian kids what you can do. That quest is yours as well as theirs."
"Mum, I-I'm no good… I can't fight. I'll never be able to protect those kids. I'm afraid."
"There are still a lot of things you don't know you can do yet. You need to go on that quest, child of magic." Hecate pulled a pewter necklace off and held her hand out. Lewis reached out, and this was real. "This will protect you."
Lewis examined the necklace. It had a pentagram charm on the end, but it really didn't seem special. Perhaps it was an amulet, he thought. He looked back up. Hecate was gone. Lewis was lying on the floor in a shower stall.
In a daze, Lewis got up, still clutching onto the necklace he had received from his mother. He fastened it around his neck and gathered up the courage to return to the campfire and insist Chiron let him on the quest.
Viva headed down toward the fire with Miles, surprised to see Lewis returning to the amphitheatre at a run.
"Chiron, I have to go on that quest," Lewis said with more confidence than he ever knew he had.
He was ready to make his case when Chiron simply accepted it. Of course the group needed an older companion, and Lewis was responsible enough to fulfill that role, powers or not. Besides, he had been one of the kids mentioned in the prophecy, and there was no doubt about that.
Chiron smiled and patted Lewis' shoulder. "You're finally stepping up, my boy. Your mother must be proud."
Lewis just stood there, stunned at the trust Chiron had in him.
Sienne ran up to Chiron, "I'm going," she signed and stood by Lewis. She looked at him and gave him a reassuring nod.
"Sienne…" Lewis whispered. He wanted so desperately to protest, but he knew children of Hades were awfully hard to come by, and she was almost certainly in the prophecy, and that she had the right to make her own choices too, no matter how much Lewis wanted to protect her from harm.
Viva was torn. On the one hand, she was happy that her friends would be on the quest with her, on the other she was so, so scared for them. She didn't want them to get hurt.
She looked around, surprised. Where was Siren? Viva had a suspicion Siren would be coming on the quest because of the line First they save a craftsman of young hands who mopes
(is maze volunteering for the quest?)
Sienne saw Lewis was worried, "Don't worry, Lewis, I can handle myself," she reassured him.
Lewis nodded in understanding and signed, "I know."
(are we changing the prophecy so theres less people or are we just pretending others are on the quest. and additionally, is perth still coming?)
(I think we're just pretending others are coming, maybe they die early on or something, and I don't think Perth is here anymore, I know @wake-read-eat-sleep is on now, they have been for a while, but they haven't come back to this RP so yeah…)
(oh ok.)
(Honestly, I'm not sure. We'll probably just see who sticks around, because we can make the plot work, even if some are inactive. As for Perth, I'm have no clue. Also, we're 22 pages in, and I was wondering if anyone else thinks it's a good idea to stop accepting new RPers at this point, since we've got the prophecy and kids going on the quest pretty much established?)
(yeah ok. probs no more ones, tho we do need a hunter of eternity… we had one of them but they left.)
(I think we're just pretending others are coming, maybe they die early on or something, and I don't think Perth is here anymore, I know @wake-read-eat-sleep is on now, they have been for a while, but they haven't come back to this RP so yeah…)
(@wake-read-eat-sleep also said that we could use Perth while they weren't here, so if they've left the RP altogether, and we think Perth is important to the plot, maybe someone else can take her?)
(good idea)
Lewis nodded in understanding and signed, "I know."
Viva smiled a little at Sienne and Lewis before returning her attention to Chiron.
