Alex fidgeted with his hands, "So yeah. There were, still are, so many things I'm not used to yet. But anyways, I got lost on my way to class. That was embarrassing walking in late and everyone staring at me."

“Aw poor you.”

Alex laughed slightly. He was running out of things to say. He said, "Enough about me. What about you? Any interesting stories?"

“Well there was this one time where my family’s peacocks escaped.” Kari said, tapping her chin lightly.

Alex nodded, "Oh do tell."

“Well we only realized when we saw a peacock nibbling the fresh baked biscuits from our chefs.” Kari said, “Then we got the maids and butlers to get them back in their garden. So it was all good.”

Alex smiled, “Where the biscuits okay? Or did they need to make a fresh batch?”

“Well we gave that batch to the peacocks and the cooks made new ones.”

Alex nodded, “Of course.”

He had run out of ideas. Not good.

Kari started to look bored.

Alex sighed he has nothing, “I’m no good at this. Sorry Ms. Kari for using up your time.”

“It’s perfectly fine.” Kari shrugged.

Adrik watched Alex, a blush spread across his cheeks, his heart rate speeding up.

'Wow, he's a natural sweetheart.' he thought his eyebrows rising as he turned to look at Grey.

Jaxen nudged Caleb and nodded towards Adrik.

Caleb handed Jaxen a plate with a slice of cake that he had just grabbed. He held back a laugh at the look on Adrik's face.

Alex shot a quick glance of help to Adrik. He spotted the blush and felt his own cheeks heat up. He looked back down at his lap hoping the blush would disappear.

“Thanks!” Jaxen grinned, taking the cake.

Caleb realized the boss was too lovestruck to do much, so he intervened. "Thank you Kari once again. Feel free to get some more refreshments outside. We would appreciate your discretion on this matter until further notice."

Alex shot a grateful look to Caleb. He seemed to notice his distress.
