"Great! I'll give you my number, you can call whenever you need free food and I'll be there." He laughed handing her a piece of paper.

"My question is, why do you already have your number on a piece of paper?" She asked, excepting the paper.

(He brought paper but no water….)

He shrugged, "Comes in handy, never know when you need it! Like a business card."

She shook her head playfully, after tucking the paper inside her book.

"I'm gonna go then, thanks again for the water. I'll talk to you later I guess." Darren walked away with a smile.

"And yet, I still don't understand boys…" She said to herself, opening her book again.

Darren turned the ringer on his phone all the way up, just in case the girl from the park decided she was hungry. He sat down on the couch to watch TV.

Paris put her book down for once that day, picking up her phone. She typed up the number, hoping he would answer, since she hadn't eaten anything since breakfast at 6am.

Darren's phone rang and he nearly jumped off the couch to answer it. "Hello?" He said all to excitedly.

"Well, you seem quite excited," She said, smiling to herself. "Okay, I don't want to sound like a kid but, I'm hungry, and I haven't eaten since 6 this morning so…"

Darren got his nerves under control, "Yeah, um… okay I'll be by to pick you up in about an hour is that okay?"

(On and off u mean…)
"Yep," Pais tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear.

“Perfect! See you then!” Darren laughed, hung up and went to go change clothes.
