Ryder rolled his eyes again. "No, we can just stop at my place and I can get a change of clothes. You're too small for me."
Ryder rolled his eyes again. "No, we can just stop at my place and I can get a change of clothes. You're too small for me."
Theo nodded in agreement, grabbing a shirt and slipping it on, keeping his pair of sweatpants on. "Sounds good. We'll swing by your place and go from there?"
(Brb like in 30-45 minutes.)
"Correction, I will go to my place while you wait outside for me." Ryder pulled on the clothes from last night.
(Okay.)
"Correction, I will go to my place while you wait outside for me." Ryder pulled on the clothes from last night.
Theo opened his mouth to protest, but he immediately closed it. If Ryder didn't want him to go somewhere, it most likely meant that it wasn't safe. "Should we go now?"
Ryder grabbed his keys and nodded. He shoved his hands in his pockets and walked out to his car. He opened Theo's door before getting in and starting the car. He drove to his apartment and parked. "Don't get out of this car." He said sternly.
"Stay safe, okay?" Theo said before he leaned back against the seat and glanced around the road. So far, nothing was too bad. The street was cleared out, but the smell of cigarettes drenched the air.
Ryder snorted. "I'll be fine. It's you I'm worried about." He got out of the car and raced up the steps to his apartment where he started to change.
A couple of guys saw Theo on the car. They smirked to each other and took a drag of their cigarettes. They walked up to the car. "Whacha doin in there? Why don't you come out here? We can have some fun."
"Uh, I'm having a lot of fun waiting in this car. I think I'll just stay in here. . ." Theo answered, trying his best to ignore the men outside. But, what made him think that they would go away? He was 5'9 and only had one leg. That wasn't exactly something to fear.
The other guys took the cigarette out of his mouth. "Don't look to fun in there. Come on. We'll show you loads of fun. Just come on out."
Theo shook his head, suddenly feeling uncomfortable. "I'm okay. . . I'll stay in here." He said quickly, glancing towards the apartments to see if Ryder had come out.
"But you're all alone in there. You must be so bored in there. We know some things that'll cheer you up." Creepy guy #1 said.
Ryder cleared his throat behind them. "Get out if here you two." He crossed his arms, glaring at the two. They backed off. He got into the car. "You okay?" He asked Theo.
"Yeah. . ." Theo nodded, trailing off as he glanced over at the men. "They're just a little creepy." He added as Ryder got into the car.
"They're just dicks trying to sell you drugs. Don't pay attention to them. They're not as bad as some others." He started to drive.
"Some others?" Theo asked curiously, looking out the window towards the street as they passed. There were a few groups of men huddled next to each other, large plumes of smoke hanging in the air next to them.
"People who aren't afraid to leave a body in a dumpster." Ryder took his hand to try and draw Theo's attention to him.
Theo glanced over at Ryder, intertwining his fingers with his. Though his gaze wandered back towards the buildings, most with graffiti scrawled over its stone walls. "Did you grow up in these kinds of places?" He asked gently, his gaze finally returning to Ryder.
Ryder nodded. "Worse actually. This place isn't as bad as the others." He said. He raised his hand to kiss Theo's knuckles. "But don't worry about it. Let's focus on something else. Something that isn't my life." He muttered the last part.
Theo nodded mutely, gazing out at the streets again. It was terrible that Ryder needed to live in these places, but he didn't speak up, knowing that he wouldn't appreciate the pity. Theo hadn't had a great childhood either, but it didn't seem as bad compared to his own. ". . . Where should we go?"
Ryder held the steering wheel with one hand and Theo's with the other. He settled back in the seat, the tension escaping him. "You'll see." He said.
Theo nodded, a small smile tilting the corners of his lips upwards as he glanced over at Ryder. "Okay then. . ." He sighed, leaning back against the seat.
Ryder grinned and winked at him. After about a twenty minute drive, he parked in the parking lot of a lazar tag place thing. He smirked. "Ready to lose babe?"
"Lazer tag!" Theo exclaimed, looking at the building as a grin spread across his face. He had never played, but apparently, it was great. " I'll hit you with my metal leg so you'll lose."
Ryder braked a laugh. "I don't think that's allowed babe. Nice try though." He got out and help Theo out of the car.
