@ElderGod-Icefire

Hey people. I want to do a historical fiction themed RP. Like I really want something on the Titanic, but at the same time, like I want pirates? So like…who's up for a Time Travel RP? Obviously it would be mainly set in the future, and then they travel back to the past. Maybe one of them is actually from the past? I don't know. I just know I have a craving for some historical fiction and time travel XD please help me.

Rules:

  • All of andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)'s rules apply, obviously
  • Post decently long, descriptive replies, please! No one word answers or very short ones
  • Be active. I don't want someone who only responds once or twice a day
  • If we start getting into a more smutty scene, take it to PMs
  • Both characters will be in their late teens/twenties (between 19 and 25)
  • Be okay with a violence please, and I may curse a bit, let me know if the cursing is not okay
  • If you have ideas to add drama/suspense/etc, throw them out there!! I am always open to new ideas!

@ElderGod-Icefire

(do you want one? Bc I would prefer at least a basic description of name, age, etc, if we don't do templates. Also do u want like…a gay romance, or straight, or what? I'm good with whatever, though I've never done a lesbian one so I don't think I could do it well XD)

(Ok! No problem, I normally don’t have a preference so a basic template is good with me. Also a gay romance might provide some drama depending on the time periods we travel to if it’s illegal or not. So that could be fun having them have to try and hide their relationship)

@ElderGod-Icefire

(alright! I'll put a template up later, I'm about to go swimming so I'll be busy for an hour or two. Ooh yes that could be cool! Gay it is then XD)

@lavender_ladybug group

Name: Lincoln Egle
Nicknames (if any): "Link"
Titles (optional): N/A
Gender: male
Age: 21
Birthday: September 29th, 1891
Personality:a bit impulsive but has good intentions, doesn't say much unless it's on paper, very much enjoys writing nonfiction articles or letters, aspires to be both an inventor and a newspaper article-writer, preferably about machines and new inventions–his inventions
Looks: Deep brown eyes, curly, un-tamable soft black hair that he usually keeps long and tied back behind his head in a low ponytail. When left down, the length reaches to the middle of his neck. He has a slightly inward turned nose, golden-almond skin tone round eyes, and fuller lips. He's at a healthy weight with being well fed from his grandparents, but he is generally always on the slimmer side. He has a bit of stubble around his jaw and chin.
Favorite drink/food (optional): malted milk/fig newtons
Backstory (you can leave this blank if you wish)(I kind of got carried away): Lincoln was born out of wedlock to Henry Egle, a rich white man, and Subira Thompson (last name changed to a more American one when her parents arrived at Ellis Island), a daughter of two Ethiopian immigrants who traveled to America to offer their daughter a chance at the American Dream. For Subira, her American Dream became her son, Lincoln. Lincoln grew up in a comfortable home with his parents. After Henry died when Lincoln was fourteen, his grandfather and grandmother on his father's side took him in to live with them and their fortune. They rejected Subira, claiming they only had room for Lincoln, so with the knowledge her son would have a good life, she reluctantly left Lincoln and went back home to care for her sickly parents. At sixteen, LIncoln became an apprentice to an engineer, which sparked his inspiration to dabble in new contraptions and inventions. At last, in 1912, at twenty-one years of age, Lincoln moved to England for college, paying for it with the money his father left him in his will.
Other: He has a long-haired black cat named Blackwell

@ElderGod-Icefire

(i love him!! Should my character be a time traveler from the future, and they meet when he accidentally travels back to Lincoln's lab or something?)

@ElderGod-Icefire

Name: Jack Finnegan Morgan
Nicknames (if any):
Titles (optional):
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Birthday: August 13, 2092
Personality: Jack is typically a friendly person, who takes things in stride. He doesn't often look worried, so when he does, things are pretty bad. He knows how to roll with the punches, so to speak. He is typically a bit of a jokester, though he can be serious when he needs to be. He can have a short temper and be rather stubborns. When he's passionate about something, he becomes very animated and enthusiastic. He's also very open minded about everything.
Looks: Jack has dark red hair with hints of gold in it, and bright blue eyes. His hair is cut shortish, and he usually just lets it do whatever it wants, not bothering to style it. His nose has a slight crook in it from when it was broken at one point. He is tall, and slim, with the sort of musculature that comes from a good amount of physical activity. He is far sighted, and as a result, requires reading glasses. He has a scar on his right bicep from a sword fight that happened during a trip to the 1400's, and a "P" brand on the inner part of his left wrist, from when he was branded as a pirate during a trip to the late 1600's.
Favorite drink/food (optional): apple juice (childishly XD) / Spaghetti
Backstory (you can leave this blank if you wish): (Can I leave this blank bc a lot of it is TBD?)
Other: might add more as we RP

In the heart of an English February, 1912, Lincoln walked down the bustling city street with his hands stuffed in his winter coat pockets. He stared at the ground, each breath creating a hollow of visible heat around his face. He grimaced at each inhale, willing himself to be closer to his workshop. The harder he willed, the faster he walked, until finally he made it to the big wooden doors sealed with a metal padlock.

Lincoln fumbled through his breast pocket in search for the key, muttering curses to the cold. At last, he jammed the key into the hunk of old metal, and the door heaved open with a creaky whine. He closed the door behind him before peeling off his gloves and winter cap. “Blackwell!” He called into the unlit room, “I’m back, Kitty, Kitty!”

Colbin, America, 2113. Jack was putting the last finishing touches on his outfit. It needed to fit the time period he was traveling to, exactly. He needed to not look too wealthy, but not poor, either. Fashionable, with that stupid brand from that pirate mission hidden. He sighed softly, donning the hat that was all the rage in England at that time. February, 1912. He shook his head slightly. The device that enabled time travel would be cloaked, of course, appearing as a pocket watch tucked into his pocket, so as to avoid suspicion. Finishing up his outfit, he began putting the date, time, and GPS location of where he would be going into the device. Taking a last, deep breath, he punched the button that would send him back in time.

The colors of the world faded and swirled, and he felt that familiar, sinking sensation in his gut as his device twisted and manipulated the fabric of time, inserting him somewhere he never would have gone otherwise. As the world came into focus again, he swore as he spotted someone coming in, their mouth moving in words he couldn't yet hear. It was supposed to be empty at this time! He thought in a panicked way.

(Two things: i might make up locations in 2113, like Colbin is made up, and two, what's your stance on swearing? Bc I'm fine either way, but I'd like to know how okay with it you are)

@lavender_ladybug group

(Ok! And I’m okay with limited swearing, especially if it’s in a character’s personality)

Lincoln leaned down to his cat, who came trotting towards him at the sounds of his name.
He didn’t notice anything too strange yet, but there was an offish air settled around his workshop today. He glanced around the room and felt his way through the dim light to his desk. He struck a match and placed it against the candlewick. The wick caught flame and illuminated the space around him with a fraction of more light than there was before.
