Giggling once more, she kissed the top of his head. "I'll take your compliments, even if I don't believe them." Jo hummed, her arms around his neck.

"I'd never lie." he popped his head up and pecked her lips with a giggle before hiding once more

"You're so kidish." She teased, running her fingers through his hair. A rosy glow rested on her cheeks, as she relaxed with him.

"I'm just can't help but be really happy around you." He says as he rested his head on her upper chest now "You're quite the fun person to be around."

"Am I now? I wouldn't expect that." She mumbled, seemingly actually surprised at that. "You're Mr. Life-of-the-party, everyone likes you." She hummed, holding him closer.

"I try to be friendly to everyone but well…I can't help but feel I'm a bit much sometimes." he reasoned as he closed his eyes

She continued to pet his head, feeling his breath against her pale olive colored skin. "It's for all the people who aren't friendly. You're a joyful person, even through adversity."

"hmm speaking of adversity I wonder when the next march will be…Y'know it's gotten more relaxed here, barely any 'no non-humans' signs up" he muttered, snuggling up against her

"Enough people must have changed their minds, though I never liked protests." She mumbled, resting her chin on the top of his head. "They normally bring the worst out in some group of people."

"I'm overjoyed if that's the case! Ember will at least have some time off. I need to get her a mans or a woman I don't judge but she's been focused on her career a whole lot. That party was a rare bit of fun for her." he muttered, humming gently

"Does she get paid well?" Joanna asked, pulling away from him some. "Because you'd think that if she had a decent chunk of money, she could take a week off."

"Well I hear Police Officers don't get paid that well. I don't know for sure." Tempest seemed to deep thinking about this a lot "I sure hope she is. She's an excellent officer."

"Hmmm…" She hummed, pulling away from him. Getting off of his lap, she stood and tapped her chin. "Ask your sister for me, real quick please."

"She may be on the clock but…okay." He got out his cell phone and dialed his sister

Joanna stood there, tapping her foot. An idea had come to her, and she wouldn't let it go until proven wrong.

"Heya Em? Um well I wanted to call…I heard that officers don't get paid a lot and I wanted to know if that was true? Why? Well just someone I know wanted to know if that rumor was true that's all." there was a pause "Really? 'Just enough' doesn't sound too great…alright well I'll talk to you later. Bye I love you." he hung up the phone "well that rumor is true then."

Nodding, Joanna turned and softly padded her way into her bedroom. She seemed oddly quiet, and concentrated. "I'll be right back!" She hollered, grabbing a pen, and her purse.

"Oh um…okay." Tempest wondered what in the world she could be doing

Pulling out a check, she wrote on it, and slipped it into an envelope. Writing Ember's name on the front, she turned around and walked back to Tempest. "Give this to her for me, will you?"

"Jo she'll..she'll never take this…but I'll try to get her to take it. You truly are the kindest woman."

"If she doesn't, you take it. I mean it. Don't let her waste it." Joanna said, sitting down beside him. "She needs it, and she needs the time off. It's only fair."

"I love you…are so sweet." he leaned over and kissed her gently

Smiling, she put a hand under his chin and held him as she kissed back. "I love you more…"
