"Yeah- but I feel bad when I have a decent chunk of money." She mumbled looking at their feet as they walked.

"Joanna it's fine you can pay next time." he told her holding her hand in his with his free hand "You getting hungry yet?"

"Kinda, what about you?" She asked walking on her toes.

"Oh Jo I'm always hungry." he chuckled "What do you wanna get while we're out here?"

"Whatever is fine by me!" She giggled poking his stomach.

He nodded and decided to drop their bags off in the car "Text me the place you choose." He told her as he took the bags

She went to object, but nodded. "Ok."

Tempest noticed people whisper and point at him oh that's right I've been shifting in and out of my other form…great he thought as he unlocked his car and put the bags in the floor board of the car's back seat.

Joanna picked out a place to eat and ordered for herself. "Thank you!" She chirped taking her food to a table. She pulled her phone out and texted Tempest. ''I'm at the pizza place by the Taco Bell!''

He texted back 'great!' and locked his car, ignoring the people that at this point were calling him things he was not going to repeat.

Joanna sat bouncing her leg, and biting her lip. She knew he wasn't going far, but still, she was worried. "He's fine…" She muttered to herself.

There were some rough looking younger people standing outside the door and as he was entering the mall one grabbed him by the back of his shirt and whispered

"What makes you think you can date my kind you filthy hybrid?" He then pushed him back inside as a police cruiser was rolling through the mall parking lot.

Joanna looked around, still nervous. "Oh good grief." She said standing. "Can I get a to-go box?" She asked one of the employees. He nodded and handed her one, so she quickly put her food in the box, and walked out.

Tempest was in the main mall area when he caught sight of Jo. "Hey sorry I got a little held up."

She had had a smile, but it dropped. "By what?" She asked standing beside him.

"Just some jerk at the mall front doors, nothing I haven't dealt with before." He shrugged a bit and smelled the food "So what did you get?" He asked, trying to change the subject.

"Tempest…" She said softly, taking his hand. She sighed and dropped the subject…for now. "I got myself a salad, but I thought you'd like cheese pizza instead."

"Great Where do you wanna sit?…By the fountain maybe?" He asked as he rubbed her hand with his thumb in an affectionate manner to comfort her.

She nodded letting a smile break onto her face. "Sure, that sounds nice." She hummed pulling him along.

He laughed a bit as he was pulled along and soon they were sitting by the fountain. Tempest took out a penny and flipped it in with a thoughtful nod before they got out their food.

"Here." She said handing him a box. "Pizza! Can I steal a bite?" She asked opening her salad container.

"Oh course! you paid after all." He handed her his slice so she could have the first bite

She smiled and bit off the end. "Pretty good, though it isn't the best." She shrugged leaning forward more and pecking his lips. "That tastes better."

He smiles and blushes quite a bit at this "You're too sweet." He told her as he chowed down.

Joanna giggled and went to her own food. "You're cuter."
