(Aha, okay)
Elide was walking though the halls of her school, head down and trying to stay as invisible as possible like always. Nightmares had kept her up all night and all she wanted to do was go home and sleep. Sadly her adoptive father had told her she had to go, but to phone if she needed him. Elide was holding a stack of books she needed to place in her locker, so she hurried along as silently as she could.
(ah I’ve gotta go out, I’ll try to get back on after if you’re still here but if not I’ll see you tomorrow!)
Pax walked through the schools hallways, smiling and waving at her friends. After several minutes of forcing her way through the sea of people, she made it to her locker and threw her backpack inside. She grabbed her books that she would need, and started to walk to her class.
Elide made it to her locker and exchanged the books she was holding to the new ones she would need for todays classes. She shut the door, only to be pushed down by some of her usual bullies.
“It’s the freak again,” One said. “She’s such trash.” Said another. The others laughed as the first one kicked her in the stomach.
As Pax was walking, she heard someone say, "She's such trash." Looking up, she found a group of people bullying and beating up a girl. Anger flooding through her veins, she ran into the middle of the fight and yelled, "That's enough!!! Stop it!" She dropped her books and held out her arms, keeping them away from the girl on the ground.
“Why would you care? You’ve never met her.” The main guy said, smirking. Elide was clutching her stomach, a bruise was probably forming but she kept er head down and didn’t say anything.
"How do you know that! And she's a person too! She doesn't deserve to have asses like you beating her up! What the Hell did she do to you, huh?" Pax angrily shouted at him, not caring that she was causing a scene.
Elide stood up quietly, “I’m fine, you… you don’t have to help… help me.” She stammered.
"No, it's okay, I want to help. Besides, these people obviously need to have a lesson on how to treat people!" She put her hand on the girls shoulder to comfort her as she glared at the bullies.
Elide tried not to flinch at the movement but let her do it anyway, “You…you really don’t have to.” She looked at the girl.
"Listen, I don't want these people to hurt you or anyone else. You don't deserve this kind of harresment. I know I don't have to, but I want to." She met eyes with the girl and gave her a small smile.
Elide quickly looked away feeling heat rise to her cheeks. Why did she have to be so cowardly and shy. You can’t even look at a cute girl without getting embarrassed. Useless, so useless She thought
Pax turned back to the people bullying the girl. "So, why don't you all go run on your way, and how about you steal some candy from a child while you're at it!" She squared her shoulders, trying to make herself a little taller and more threatening.
The bullies grumbled some insults and walked off, Elide relaxed her shoulders a little when they were gone, “Thank…thank-you… you didn’t have to.. to do that.”
Pax looked back at the girl she had helped. "Oh, don't mention it! I can't stand to see people being treated like garbage." She shook her head a little before saying, "I'm Pax, by the way." She gave her a small smile.
“Elide.” She said quietly
"That's a really pretty name," she said. Pax got on the ground, picking up the books she dropped.
“Oh.. umm thanks,” She stammered turning red and lent down to help pick up her books.
Noticing Elide blushing, Pax got a color rising on her cheeks as well. "Thank you," she said, taking the books from Elide and standing up. She held out her arm to help her up as well.
Elide reluctantly grabbed her hand. Why do you always have to be so shy “What umm… what class do you have?” She asked
"Oh, I have geometry. What about you?" She tried to look nonchalant and lean only on one foot, but ended up slipping and just about falling instead. ((Legit this is a thing I do and has happened to me..))
“English…” She said quietly.
((Baha, same…. and I legit am in English rn… nearly over tho))
