"Does talking to me count as breaking the rules, 'cause if not then what rules would you be breaking?" Eve asked, making a small bubble of water float up from the lake before she made it pop, then looked at Riley.
"Does talking to me count as breaking the rules, 'cause if not then what rules would you be breaking?" Eve asked, making a small bubble of water float up from the lake before she made it pop, then looked at Riley.
"Keeping in touch with another element for longer than needed. They try not to mix us up you know." Riley was still looking up, studying the sky.
Eve nodded, "Yeah, yeah I know. It's kinda stupid if you ask me… why can't we be friends with other elements. Yeah some don't mix but who cares."
"But that's the rule imma break." He smiled, finally looked back down at Eve. "Only if you're willing, cutie." He winked at her.
Eve blushed a little, "I mean… s-sure, why not." She smiled back with a small one of her own.
"Yay!" Riley carefully leaned over, hugging Eve. "I won't make any promises, but I will try with all my might not to burn you as long as you don't hurt my flame, water girl." He chuckled.
Eve rolled her eyes but laughed a little, "That sounds fair fire boy," She looked out towards the water and her smile turned into a grin, "Ever gone swimming before?" She asked, standing.
"Uh, no." Riley stood also, rubbing the back of his head. "I've only ever been allowed near water for so long so, no." He chuckled slightly.
"Come on then. I'm putting up with fire so you have to at least stand in the shallows." Eve said, giggling as she started wading into the water and humming quietly.
"Fine, fine." Riley smiled, kicking his shoes and socks off. Slowly he wadded into the water, really not caring that his jeans got wet because he could dry them out instantly after leaving the water. Sucking in a breath as he stepped into the liquid, he looked at Eve. "It's cooolldd! He whined.
Eve rolled her eyes, "Stop complaining, it's not that cold." She smiled and stopped when she was waist deep in the water. She sighed and floated on her back, "You'll get used to the temperature."
"If you say so." He mumbled, moving further into the water, already getting used to the temperature. He knew if he stayed in it too long he could get hurt, but that was like, over half an hour yet.
"I do say so." Eve smiled before diving under the water with a splash, coming back up giggling like crazy, "Maybe I was wrong about you, fire boys aren't all that bad."
"You wouldn't be sayin that if I successfully lit this place up." Riley chuckled, crossing his arms as he stopped in water just above his knee.
Eve rolled her eyes and swam over to Riley, "If that does happen then my first suspicions were correct but you haven't so…"
"And I won't. I'll set another place on fire." He joked, looked down at her.
Eve smiled, "At least it's not the lake, any other place is fine by me."
"Yes!" Riley pumped his fist into the air in a mini cheer. "Burnnn…some other place!" He whisper yelled for no reason.
Eve shook her head and smiled, "You're suck a dork."
"A handsome dork at that." He smirked cunningly, running a hand through his hair. Soon after, Riley placed his hands on his hips, winking yet again at Eve.
"Do you have to wink at me. You've done that how many times wince we met barely half an hour ago?" Eve raised an eyebrow at Riley.
Riley winked again. "It's my thing, ya know?" He chuckled. "How else am I gonna get a million girlfriends? They always go for the wink. I'm still single because uh…." He paused, looking up. "I don't..like..them?" It came out sounding more like a question than a statement.
"It sounds to me like you are unsure yourself, and if the wink always works then why don't you have a girlfriend? Why pursue a girl you don't like?" Eve asked, grinning.
"Uh." Riley huffed. "I have my reasons…" He muttered.
"Care to share those reasons or keep them to yourself?" Eve asked, starting to swim away.
