Nico was pained, taking shaky breaths. He nods and looks at the doctor. "Let's go."
"Don't worry, if we die, it could have been a worse death. But we get to die with honor, so that contents me. Let's go." he said. The Doctor spotted something up on a nearby rooftop. "Nico, can you get us up there?" he asked.
"Anyways, notebook." Cece said. "Yeah, here." Alison stuttered. She handed Cece the notebook, the latter placed it in her torn jacket. Suddenly, the door swung open. "Leave this place, now." a young girl, possibly 8, said. "Who are-" "Umiko. I assume you can find your way out, I really need to leave now." she ran off. Alison stood up, looking down the direction Umiko might have gone, but there was nobody there. "Weird…." she muttered.
Nico watches him before nodding. "Grab my shoulder or something." He says as he steps into shadow.
The Doctor nodded, doing so, and they were transported to the roof. "Wonderful, that really is quite the trick. Must be a smashing hit at parties, what?" the Doctor said. "And that just so happens to be exactly what I was looking at." he said, pointing to a currently empty helicopter. "I'm sure the owners will be forgiving, it probably belongs to whatever police force they have, see the logo on the side? And we're using it to serve the greater good, so I don't think it's technically stealing so long as we give it back afterwards." he said, climbing up into the pilot's seat.
"Takes a lot of energy though." He mutters. He takes a breath. He looks at the helicopter. "Let's go."
The Doctor looked over to their destination. "Ah, soon be there! Let's go!" he said, taking off and flying to the roof. "Stairs, down them, no time to waste." he said. The mobile phone in his pocket began to ring. "Hello, this is the renegade Time Lord known as the Doctor who travels through all time in space, passing through, helping out, etcetera etcetera, if this is Gallifrey, I'm actually a little busy, leave a message for my android." he said absentmindedly. "Your android can hear you, dearest, although I remember you claiming quite the opposite last night when we were-" the Doctor cut his companion off before the conversation could take an awkward turn. "Have you got my maps, blueprints, anything?" he asked. "The building you've requested for your time period and current location doesn't exist, I'm afraid. Now, as it so happens, I-" the Doctor hung up before the Master could finish saying whatever unhelpful comment or unsolicited advice he had in mind. "Strange, very strange indeed. Well, Alison and Will see down there certainly, we should go in to help them. Coming with?" he asked.
Nico walks after the doctor, listening to the conversation. He nods. "Like hell I'm leaving you to do everything alone." He mutters, rolling his eyes. "Especially when it involves my boyfriend."
"I normally have to do everything alone, it hasn't killed me yet. Well, it has killed me, but that's a long story." he said, walking down the stairs.
"No matter how many times you regenerate, pain is still with you. You just have to choose who you're going to go through pain with. Will was my answer. I'm guessing the master was yours." He walks past the doctor, his black mini ponytail bouncing with him as he does so.
"Actually, he caused most of my pain. But after I lost An- after I saved him from what one would consider as something along the lines of certain death, it… got better. Took twenty-seven years for us to get to the point where we could have a civil conversation." the Doctor sighed. "Back at the Academy, oh, he was brilliant. Always so fast, witty, top in all classes. I had a little crush on him at the time. We were inseparable for quite a while, but then I met a woman, got married, and started a family. Our paths diverged from that point, he wanted to travel, I wanted to have a normal life. Ended up I started travelling too, with my granddaughter. My wife had… well, you know how these stories always go. Heartbreak and all that." the Doctor looked away. "But enough about Gallifrey, that bit of my life was hardly significant. We should get back to the task at hand."
Nico listens, nodding when appropriate. "From what Alison describes, the two of you were very close." He replies, but cracks a smile. "Yes, let's."
"We were." the Doctor said, although a tad bitterly for some unknown reason. As they came to the bottom of the stairs, voices floated down the hall. "…. still unconscious, poor thing. Wonder who that girl was?" Kate's strong, almost commanding, yet tender voice echoed. "Well, I'm sure that I'll be able to carry him a bit farther, hopefully we can get back to the Doctor." Cece's high and energetic yet grounded voice responded. "And Nico too. God, he must be worried." Alison said, walking into the hall they were in. "Doctor? Oh, you idiot." she said, running up to him and burying her face in his coat. "You stupid, bloody idiot, I was so worried and…" she trailed off into mumbles of "idiot" and "thought I lost you".
(Sorry for late responses, I was a bit busy. I'll be going to rock climbing classes now so I won't be back for a few hours, sorry! See you later!)
(I'm back! Sorry I'm so late, traffic was horrific. If you're online, wanna RP?)
(It's okie!)
Nico hears the voices, stopping his his tracks. When he sees Alison he smiles, chuckling as she hugs him. Then he sees Will. The son of Apollo was limping slightly, looking tired and defeated. His usually tan skin was far to pale for a sun god's child. He rushes towards Will, nodding at Cece before wrapping Will in a tight embrace. Will hugged back, resting his head on his shoulder.
"How romantic. We need to leave, and like, now." Cece pointed out. "Fair enough. I, ahem, borrowed a helicopter to get here, it's a few floors up though." the Doctor said. Suddenly, the floor beneath them started to shake and churn, knocking the group off their feet. "I have reason to believe the Axos craft is underneath the building. It's most likely waking up, so we'd beat be off." he added.
Nico nods and picks Will up gently. "Let's go. I need every one to hold onto me." He says sternly. He didn't like how the earth was shaking and he sure as Hades did not want to see an alien spacecraft or whatever it was appear. He already had enough stuff to deal with.
Alison did so immediately, the Doctor next. Cece hesitated for a moment, but eventually complied after a second's consideration. Kate and Hiraki were the only ones skeptical. "Just do as you're told, for goodness sake. Oh, honestly!" the Doctor grabbed both of their wrists and placed them on Nico's shoulder. "Alright, we're all ready to go."
Nico nods and takes a deep breath before they were sucked in by the shadows. It was dark and cold for a few quick seconds before they managed to make it to the helicopter. "Here we go." He says.
The Doctor, Alison, Kate, and the rest all hopped in. Suddenly, the building itself began to change shape. "Okay, minor miscalculation. The ship isn't under the building, it is the building. Let's go!" he took off. Suddenly, an orange tentacle grabbed Hiraki around the ankle. Another grabbed the helicopter, the Doctor attempted to fly away but when he noticed Hiraki- "Grab my hand!" he said, leaning out the door. Cece grabbed the controls, keeping the helicopter flying. "I'm trying!" Hiraki said. In a sudden moment, both the Doctor and Hiraki knew what would happen next. "Doctor…. please, if you meet my daughter, I want you to….." Hiraki trailed off. "No!" he shouted, as Hiraki fell to her death. "She can't… I won't let this happen!" he seized the controls from Cece, piloting them closer to Hiraki as she fell…. and closer to the deadly building.
Nico looks at the doctor, "DON'T! I'll do it! I'll shadow travel, and catch her. Just make sure to keep the helicopter in one place." He says sternly. "But there is no way in hell we are getting ourselves killed. Risking one is better than risking all." As he says that he disappears, focusing catching Hiraki.
"Nico, don't! We can't save… oh, bugger." Cece muttered. The helicopter was dragged towards the building, crashing back onto the roof. "Everyone, out!" Alison said as the vehicle began to fill with smoke.
Nico had pulled away before an orange thing grabbed at him. He managed to dodge it before landing on solid ground.
"Down! It's several stories, we don't have time to check if the others are alive, and we can't exactly jump down ourselves. Stairs are the option least likely to get us brutally murdered. I'm sorry Will, Nico is probably dead." the Doctor said. Cece helped carry Will down, but they were cut off in the now-Axos hallways. "Go back!" Kate said, but the way they came through cut them off.
(Good morning, how are you?)
