(Sorry, I keep forgetting about this! I read it, then try to think of a response and forget to respond, then close it and it gets lost…)
Brooke hopped out of her car and walked up to the front door of a small, light blue house. She opened the door without knocking, her parents would know it was her.
"Brooke? We're in the kitchen," her mother's voice floated to her ears from a room to her left. Brooke smiled and headed over.
"Hi, Mama. Hi, Daddy. What's up?" she asked, reaching into a cupboard for the box of cookies she knew was 'hiding' there.
Still reading
(Idk wat to make him do)
(Idk. Go home? Watch TV? Get into a fight?)
Brooke's mom rolled her eyes as her daughter grabbed a cookie from the box and started to eat it. Her dad simply smiled and shook his head in amusement.
"We just wanted to spend some time with you," Brooke's father stated, smiling softly.
"Oh. Cool. Yeah, that sounds good. Did you have something in mind to do?" she asked.
(Sure)
After he finished his drink, he threw it away and kept reading as he walked home.
"We were thinking you could read us your book," Brooke's mother suggested.
Brooke's eyebrows shot up. "You– You want to read my book?"
"Well, have you read it to us," her father clarified. "But, yes."
Leon flopped down on his couch after he walked into his house, still reading his book.
(You could have him call/text Brooke or something.)
"Uh. All right," Brooke said slowly, grabbing another cookie before heading to the living room to sit down on the couch.
Leon closed the book after a few minutes and decides to text Brooke, "Hey."
Brooke was in the middle of a chapter when her phone vibrated in her pocket.
"Just a second," she said to her parents, pulling it out. She smiled at the sight of a text from Leon and texted him back before reading to her parents again.
BROOKE: Hey. What's up?
Leon: First the ceiling of my house then the sky. He texted her back as he got into a sitting position on his couch.
Brooke snorted, her parents giving her somewhat strange looks. She ignored them and responded.
BROOKE: Yeah, okay. What's goin' on?
Leon: Nothing much, what about you?
BROOKE: Reading to my parents because they asked me to. Idk why…
Leon: Oh, srry for disturbing then. You can go read to your parents.
BROOKE: Lol. No, it's fine. I kinda wanted to stop, anyway. It's awkward.
Leon:Lol, okay then. Ummm, what do you wanna talk about?
BROOKE: Idk. I think I'm gonna head back to my house. You wanna hang out later?
BROOKE: Uh… How about three? You pick the place.
Leon: Ugh, I'm terrible at picking. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, how aboutttttt the park?
Brooke chuckled, saying goodbye to her parents and packing her things away.
BROOKE: Sure, sounds good. Should we meet there? Or will you pick me up?
Leon stood up and went into the kitchen to grab a glass of water.
Leon: Your choice
BROOKE: Helpful… What if I meet you there?
