"Yeah, that limp looks just fine," She whispered.
"Yeah, that limp looks just fine," She whispered.
(….aaaaaand I'm jumping in now, sorry for the inactivity)
"Hey, hey, I'm late to the party," Andrei said, coming up to the small group. "Sorry I ran off there, I saw this bird and it was nuts, I had to follow it." He laughed shortly. "Ha. No, I kid." He glanced at the injured kid, a flash of worry flickering in his eyes before it was gone. "You're alright? Like, you're sure you're alright, not the I'm fine everyone falls back on. That's a nasty limp."
"He's trying to act strong," Yuuka said wile putting a hand on Andrei's shoulder and whispered to the new comer, "but he's not fooling anyone. Shhh let's just see were this goes."
(Welcome back)
(Hi I’m gonna be on and off) Murdock huffed. “If you must bother me, yes, my ankle does hurt a little. But it’s nothing I haven’t dealt with before.”
Inima stood awkwardly at the edge of the group. She wasn't trained for this type of stuff, she sighed quietly.
"Oh no he's hurt," Yuuka fakes surprise, "I would have never guessed." She rolls her eyes, "I would offer to transfer the damage for you, but then someone else would have take it."
Murdock rolled his eyes. "I once dealt with a broken arm for two weeks, I'm sure I'll be alright." He frowned a little at the memory of his arm. It definitely wasn't high on his list of favorite moments
Inima spoke up, "I could take it."
Murdock's frown deepened. "No. I won't force anything on you."
"I'll be happy to take it," Inima insisted. She fiddled with her collar again, It's not like I can kicked out anyways. That would break the government's agreement.
"No. Not happening. I refuse to harm another person without reasonable cause," Murdock said with an air of finality
Andrei glanced from Yuuka to Murdock, not entirely convinced, but accepting nonetheless. "More than you can say about me, I guess. When I first broke my arm I didn't stop complaining until the cast was off. Worst two weeks of my life." He looked toward Inima, sizing her up. "Honestly? You probably could take it, no problem. You have that look to you."
Inima didn't know how to respond to that so she said, "Thank you?"
Murdock sighed. He honestly had dealt with far worse than a sprained ankle. He winced a little as the memory of his uncle deliberately using his quirk to snap his rib when he refused to power the car one night
"You'll need to clear it with him first," Yuuka informed, "a lot of people feel guilty when they pass on damage to another person." She sighed, "If he doesn't want to hurt anyone I won't make him and… well the damage is to high to transfer to the grass."
"Not gonna let you," Murdock repeated quietly. "Not even the grass deserves it," he added, barely audible
"Well that settles it," She shrugged turning to the new kid and held her hand out, "My name is Yuuka."
Andrei nodded, understanding in his face. "Ahhh. Yeah, I didn't take that into account. I'd probably take you up on the offer if you asked, you know?" He nodded toward Inima, turning to Murdock and casting his eyes over him again, this time a bit more contemplatively. "I feel like I might be a little less empathetic than you, man."
"Thank you for your consideration," Murdock near snapped. He seemed to startle himself with the response, and he went back to staring at the ground again
Inima wanted to argue by saying she's been trained to handle pain like this, but thought against it. She crossed her arms.
(May I join? Don't worry, I'll read everything)
"Well, we're always happy to help, buddy," Andrei shot back with an edge of snark, not quite understanding the softly curt way Murdock had spoken. He paused, replaying his words in his head. Wow. You sure are nice. "That was mean. Sorry. I didn't mean that."
(May I join? Don't worry, I'll read everything)
