Carter snorted. "You think I am? All my friends are either dead or in hiding, and have been that way for years."
"Oh… sorry." He said, picking at a lose thread. "Uh, hows life…?"
Carter let out a hollow laugh. "Just dandy. Yours?"
"Okay." He said, giggling a bit
"And I assume the kidnapping is making you week all the more better?" Carter asked, smiling.
"Of course!" He said jokingly.
"Right. I should probably put this away." Carter picked up the box of medical supplies and with another small smile walked out of the bathroom. He opened the door and shut it behind him, not bothering to lock it. He set the box up in the closet. He turned to go back, but he froze when he saw someone sitting on the couch, absentmindedly picking at their nails. "Thomas." Carter hissed, taking a step back. "What the hell are you doing here? How are you even here?"
Denzel walked out of the bathroom, going to where he left the book. He sat down to read, oblivious to what was going on outside. And the fact that the door was unlocked and he could've left
Thomas gave Carter a look. "Since when do you take hostages?" He asked, ignoring Carter's questions. "And in Michael's house? Does he even know?"
Carter glared at Thomas. "A lot has change in the past couple years. Michael's dead, so no, he doesn't know. Where the hell have you been? People have died because of you, Thomas."
"I've been places, Carter." He looked towards the room where Denzel was. "Want to explain the hostage thing to me, now?"
Carter looked at the floor. "I'm trying to talk to the Legion. Get them to stop killing and torturing to get to you."
"So you've done that by killing and torturing people yourself? I've read about you Carter. You're definitely an impressive villain."
"Oh, shut up." Carter hissed.
