Bree walked out after James, leaving her uncle to his work. Smithy had declared that it was Belladona, but there was also a hint of Red-death in it. When she walked outside, she saw James holding a crying Drina. Deciding that they might want some privacy, she quietly turned to walk back inside, but she accidentally kicked a stone as she did so. The stone clattered over the ground, and Bree froze.
James turned his head at the sound of the clattering stone, and saw a frozen Bree. "Hey there."
Drina sat up, her face unreadable. She felt extremely grateful for James and his comfort, but she'd opened up to much. She closed her mouth when Bree came outside, and just sat there, fiddling with her index finger.
A crimson flush covered Bree's cheeks as James greeted her. "Um, hi," she said awkwardly. "I was- uh- just coming out to let you both know that Uncle Smithy figured out what the poison was, but- um- I can- uh- go back inside if you want me to…"
James looked at Drina to see what she would want, because right now, her feelings and needs were much more important than his.
Drina didn't say anything, a signal that whatever James wanted goes.
James hugged her back to his body but gave Bree a looked that told her she was welcome to sit with them.
Bree smiled and sat down, then told the others what Smithy had told her about the poison.
Drina sat limp, a thousand thoughts racing through her head, that she would never vocalize.
Apples… Why would someone give me poison apples? Maybe… Maybe Jenvir? But he's dead… But people have been thought of as dead and actually been alive countless times! Could it have been an accident? Why such a heavy poison? And if it IS that bad, COULD someone have been trying to kill me?
( oh shoot I just looked back and read that Drina ate an apple! )
Suddenly Drina started to cough. It got worse, in seconds. She pulled away from James and leaned over, blood coming out each cough. She'd eaten an apple and she'd forgotten. Suddenly her vision blurred, and she fell sideways. NO! she screamed in her head. NO NO NO NO NO! Her thoughts began to slur. Nono…nonono… NO! With a final, wretched, heaving cough, she lurched upright and hurled. It was mostly blood, and a purple liquid that must have been the poison. She sat up, light headed. Did I just THROW UP poison from my system?
At first James was startled, but as soon as the violet liquid came out of Drina he scooped her up and brought her into Smithy's room and laid her down on the opposite bed.
"I'm fine!" Drina called as he set her down. "I threw it up. I got it out. I'm fine." she said again, standing. "I need to go. I shouldn't be here anymore." she said quietly.
In shock, Bree followed Drina and James into the apothecary. Smithy had given Addie the remedy, and the girl was now sleeping peacefully. When he noticed James drag Drina in, he shook his head and stood up.
Muttering something under his breath about irresponsible children, he grabbed the vial from earlier. "Drink," he commanded Drina, handing her the vial.
Drina sighed. He thought her a child. Her face returned to the stone expression, as usual, and she drank it. Once through, she bowed to everyone in the room, and left.
(I've got to disappear for a few days…) :(
( I'll give you a summary of all role-plays I'm in with you when you're back! )
Addie shifted in her place, she felt incredibly uncomfortable. Could someone get her a softer pillow? "Oww," she murmured as someone poked her, her eyes opening slightly before shutting immediately at the brightness of the light of the room she was in.
Drina quickly ran off towards the woods. If she could talk to Dorin, she knew she'd feel so much better.
(Apparently, I forgot to mention that I'm back on this RP, too…)
"Addie!" Bree gasped. "You're awake!"
Addie sat up confusedly, where was she? Oh… that's right, she had been poisoned - why had she felt so sick about it though, usually she had a high tolerance to poison. Was something wrong with her?
(Should we revive this roleplay?)
