He smiled a little back at her.

She kissed his shoulder

”I love you.” he whispered, kissing the top of her head. ”And I’m very proud of you.”

" i love you more " she said

He smiled softly at that and hugged her. ”Did you need our marriage license for your new job?”

" i just needed everything organized is there a reason you keep it in your bedside table?"

He blushed a little. ”I had Evan bring it up before… before you turned me human to heal so I could have it nearby. You know, in case… I thought it would help me remember how much I loved you. Turns out I didn't need it.”

She smiled softly gently laying her head on his shoulder

He gave a small, slightly embarrassed, smile and held her close.

" I'm going to put the kids to bed" she said

”Ok.” he nodded, finally letting go of her. ”Give them each a kiss from me.” he smiled.

She nodded going to the kids room

Laura-Beth was sitting on the floor, looking through a picture book with both her brothers and little sister.

" hey guys" she said

Laura-Beth looked up and smiled happily. “Hi, mama.”

Adrian sat up a little and reached up his arms, wanting to be held.

Betty bent down with a painful grunt and picked up Adrian

Adrian gave a small yawn and cuddled against her.

“Mama still hurt?” Laura-Beth asked innocently.

" yeah sweetie " she told Laura-Beth holding Adrian close to her chest
