She heard a knock on the door and got up opening it "Hi dad"

”Hello, darling.” Charles smiled gesturing for a hug.

She wrapped her arms around him tightly

He returned the hug. ”Is everything alright?” he asked, noticing the tear tracks on her face.

She nodded "Yeah I'm okay"

Charles simply nodded. ”Alright. If you're sure.” he said giving her one more hug before letting go.

"the kids need to eat and get dressed then they'll be ready' she said

Charles nodded. ”No rush. I was just eager to see them and you.” he told her.

"Do you want anything tea, coffee bottle of blood" she said

”Coffee is fine. I drank enough blood for the week before I came over.” he smiled assuringly.

She nodded " hun can you get dad some coffee?" She asked

”Yeah, one second. Apparently, Adrian would rather paint with his breakfast rather than eat it.” Lysander called out from the kitchen.

" Ly! You can't give them real.food they have to have formula" she said pushing him out of the way

Lysander groaned a little. ”I know that. I said the wrong thing.” he explained. ”I meant Laura-Beth’s breakfast. He just grabbed a handful and started smearing it all over.”

"Just go in there please I'll feed them Evan is coming over" she said

Lysander froze at that news, not really trusting his brother much anymore since Betty told him that Evan was a Ripper. ”Why is he coming over?” he asked, grabbing a warm washcloth to clean up Adrian’s mess.

"because they're his kids I won't let them be raised how I was never knowing who your father is " she said

He nodded. "Ok. That makes sense." he agreed gently. He was able to understand somewhat because of how Evan had originally wiped his memory of having a brother. "Alright. Do we know when he'll be here?"

There was a knock on the door

Lysander couldn't help but chuckle softly and shook his head. ”Speak of the devil…” he joked quietly so Laura-Beth didn't hear him.

“I’ll get it.” Charles told them since he was closer to the door.

She smiled "No it's okay dad I got it" she said speeding past him.and opening the door

Charles dodged to the side as Betty ran past him but he didn't mind.

”Hey, Betty.” Evan greeted with a warm smile.

"Hi the twins are inside" she said

”Thanks.” Evan said as he walked in the door. ”And thanks for letting me see them.”
