Lysander put his phone away and started heading home.

" Henry it's Betty get lysander" she said "are you hurt? She asked betty.

"No I'm okay Alec hasn't hurt me" she said

”Right.” Henry nodded and ran off to get Ly.

Lysander was in no hurry to get home. He was depressed every time he came home and Betty wasn’t there. Which was part of the reason why he was letting Tyler and Henry stay with him.

"but how are you and the baby"Betty asked

"Almost due"Tyler said

I'm sorry I couldn't be there for your "pregnancy Betty said

"You lived half of it more than half"Tyler said

“Ly! There you are.” Henry smiled brightly as he found his brother. ”You need to come home now!”

Lysander jumped as Henry appeared beside him. ”Why? What is it?” he asked when he saw the excited expression. ”Is it the baby?” was the only thing he could think of that would get Henry like this.

”No. Not yet.” Henry shook his head. ”It’s Betty! She’s on the phone and wants to talk to you.”

"I'm okay really Tyler" she said to her girl best friend was an able to believe her

As soon as Lysander heard Betty’s name, he took off as fast as he could to get home. It took him about thirty seconds before he slowed to a stop at the door.

" Betty maybe you should come home" tyler said

”Betty?” Lysander asked as he walked into the room.

Betty sighed " Hey ly" she said through the phone.

Lysander practically fell to his knees near the phone. ”Betty. Where are you? Are you alright? Are you hurt?” he asked worried and relived.

" im safe a vampire is talking care of me" she said.

”Where are you?” he asked again, noticing she didn't answer that question last time. ”Please, come home.” he begged.

" I can't I belong here this is home" she said
" yeah princess " Alec said

Lysander stiffened at the other voice over the phone. ”Betty? Who was that?” he asked trying to keep the anger out of his tone.

"Alec" she said with a sigh

”Why are you with him?” Lysander couldn't help but feel jealous and a little rage at the idea of that… twisted thing being near Betty.

"hes helping me get over my demons my fear my insecurities" Betty said

”Oh. I see.” he said flatly, still not trusting that creep in anyway. ”How is he doing that for you?”

" he just is I have nightmares and he runs in and holds-" she stopped realizing she was about to reveal Alec had been holding her

Lysander didn't need her to finish that sentence. He knew what she was about to say and his eyes darkened. ”Is that all he does? He leaves you alone to have these nightmares, then he comes in to comfort you and pretend to be your hero?”

Betty sighed " I love you ly remember that" she said " I'm sorry we didn't get married but you'll get married one day and have the family you wanted" she said

Lysander shook his head, knowing she couldn't see it. ”No. I won't. The only family I want is with you.” he said blinking back tears. ”I love you.”

She sighed before hanging up a year passed no word from Betty Tyler and her texted but never called since Betty didn't want Lysander. To hear her voice

Lysander only got worse in the year without Betty. He stopped searching because it was obvious that she didn't want to be found. Henry had to remind him to hunt and actually hunt, not just rip the jugular out. Lysander briefly got better when Tyler's baby was born and Tyler remained in good health after.
