Caelan took a deep breath, reaching out to take the wood from Dayton as she was tossing it. Stuffing it under his arm, he ran his thumbs under the girl's eyes to remove the mascara. "I don't want you getting blood on your beautiful outfit." he smiled warmly, betraying no negative emotions he may have felt. "I'll be back in a moment."
¨Remeber remove the head¨she said with a thumbs up like the dork she was.
He nodded firmly, trying to conceal the grin that wanted to appear across his lips. So cute!
Taking another deep breath, he quickly opened the door and forcefully pushed the zombie back with the wood. When the creature was away from the bathroom, Caelan threw the wood to the side. The zombie rushed towards him, but he was just a second ahead and had grabbed the creature in a headlock from behind. In one swift movement, Caelan twisted the zombie's head until he heard the bones snap. He wasn't finished, remembering Dayton's words. He slammed the corpse into the ground, standing firmly on its back as he pulled the head clean from the shoulders.
Dayton clapped Quietly ¨Bravo Combo Kill Twenty points¨ she said with a giggle.
(what kind of monster is he)
(He's a vampire-wolf hybrid)
Caelan sighed, smiling tiredly as he dropped the head to the ground. Just as he was about to move, a figure dropped down from the ceiling. It was a small, skinny woman, with dead white skin and black eyes. She bared her fangs at him, ready for the kill.
Crap, I'm in trouble now…
The leg came before anything else. Of course, the vampires never tried to use their fangs first. The impact on his cheek was harder than he had expected, sending him flying backwards. Dayton, don't come out of that bathroom"
It was too late . Dayton heard the impact and popped her head around the corner and gasped at the sight.
Caelan scrambled to his feet as the woman approached him.
He landed a punch to her stomach, knocking her off guard long enough for him to pin her by the neck against the nearest wall.
She stared at him, her eyes widened as his grip tightened. "Cae—"
Not today.
He pulled her close to him by the shoulders, sinking his teeth into her neck. A loud, strangled gasp escaped the woman's lips as the blood started to flow from the bite. A flame ignited within Caelan's core, his eyes shone a faint blue, and he bit deeper into the woman's neck. The blood was cold, bitter, but it was better than nothing.
Don't look at me, Day.
The body in his arms went limp and slowly fell to the floor. Caelan stood back, filled with both satisfaction and horror. No.. He swore to himself that he wouldn't feed like that again, that he wouldn't allow himself to be that part of him as long as Dayton was around. Please tell me she didn't see..
Dayton gulped looking at the blood on his mouth and she backed up towards the window.
He caught a glimpse of his reflection in a cracked mirror on the floor, blood stained his hands and lips. His eyes had returned to normal, but that didn't mean anything.
"I'm a monster." he sighed sadly to himself, tears beginning to form in the corners of his eyes. "Dayton's going to hate me, but I had to keep her safe."
Dayton sighed and approched him . She saw the tears she wrapped her arms around him barrying her head in his chest ¨Thank you¨ she didn´t care if she got blood on her she needed him to know that it was okay that no difference was made.
Caelan gasped suddenly as Dayton hugged him. Was she really okay with this? Knowing that he wasn't a human would change everything she thought she knew about him, right? He hesitantly wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. "I'm sorry.."
¨Shh¨ She said holding him tighter ¨Just Hold me Alright? Everything will be okay we´ll be okay I promise¨ she said.
Caelan fell silent, closing his eyes as he focused on Dayton's warmth and calming tone. They had time to talk about it later, for now they needed to think about their next movements. Was it worth going outside just to go back to a house that might not even be safe anymore? At the end of the day, Caelan just wanted to make sure that the people he cared about were safe, even if it meant getting his hands dirty.
Dayton looked at Caelan and wiped some blood off his bottom lip with her thumb¨ we need to get out of here¨ she said.
"Where will we go?" He asked, closing his eyes, leaning in to the warmth of Dayton's hand
¨I Don´t KNow But we Can´t Stay here My cars outside We can drive¨ she said, now stroking his cheek.
"We meaning you?" Caelan smiled a little, placing his own hand over hers. "I just need to do something."
He moved away from her, grimacing as he dipped his fingers into the pool of blood by the zombie's headless corpse. Upon the wall he wrote his phone number, hoping that survivers would call it. He took Dayton by the hand, mustering the bravest expression he could. "Let's go."
She laced thier Fingers Together And walked out of the bathroom with him. Thier were no lights . Thier Must Have been a power Outage. For Once inn her Life she was scared. In the movies she hated when things jumped out and this seemed like one of those scenes.
"Nothing is going to jump out at you." Caelan murmured reassuringly, tightening his grip on Dayton's hand. He led her out of the building, making sure she didn't trip on any rubble, and forced the door open with a few kicks.
When The door opened The impact blew her hair . She sighed ¨Lets go¨ she said walking him out to her car put pushed him against a wall along with herself. She put her finger to her lips ¨Shh¨ she said. Vampires were surrounding her car.
Caelan glanced over at where Dayton was looking, and forced himself to hold back a sound of disgust. He recognised more than a couple of them and was pretty sure he wasn't on good terms with at least four. "Do you want me to deal with them?" he asked quietly, keeping his eyes on the vampires.
¨No ¨ She said ¨I´ll Meet you At the old theater yeah?¨ she said picking up some wood lying on the ground.
