Bernadette felt safer with Eleanor's touch. She knew the pirate didn't mean to, that she was just scared, but the whole experience still frightened her.
"I.. I'm okay." She said quietly, then leaned into Eleanor, embracing her.
"Im so so sorry…"

Eleanor stiffened in shock at first, but slowly, she let herself relax in Bernadette's embrace. "That wasn't an ideal part of my first impression. I'm sorry you had to see that."

Bernadette sniffed, shaking her head slowly. "I'm sorry… I know how hard it is when you love someone and they just… throw it all away." She mumbled through soft tears, pulling away slightly from Eleanor. "M-my apologies… I don't know what came over me"

@emilyevewrites group

Eleanor sighed softly. "It's alright," she murmured. "I shouldn't have been so careless about my feelings…" She laughed incredulously. "It was only this morning I told her I loved her…"

Etta wiped her eyes, sighing gently as she dared to look back up at Eleanor. "God.. but, but she should have at least have some respect." She went back to wiping her tears again, quite embarrassed, and feeling incredibly sorry for Eleanor.

Eleanor smiled sadly. "I'm glad you think so," she murmured quietly. "At least someone else does." She thought of Sally and Neva again and glared out the window. "God, why did everything go wrong the one time I trust my heart over my head?" she asked with a sigh.

neva had heard it, having been an inch from knocking on eleanors door. " im sorry.." she mumbled and walked away. she slammed the door to her private courtiers and locked it.

Eleanor closed her eyes and jumped hearing a door slam. She knew without a doubt it was Neva's. "Shit," she whispered, turning away from Bernadette so the girl couldn't see her tearing up.

Bernadette didn't know what to do. Her training in servitude didn't mention anything like this. So, she relied on instinct, putting an arm around Eleanor as she gazed out the window with her, not saying a word.

Eleanor relaxed a bit and stared out the window. "Most people where I come from hate the water," she remarked. "The open sea. It terrifies them. Like my mother. That's part of the reason I'm here, you know. I knew she'd never come looking for me out here. They see it as undiscovered and therefore dangerous. I see it as undiscovered and therefore… an adventure."

Sally sat below deck and thought about everything. Eleanor likes Neva Neva likes me and Eleanor Etta. . . i don't know yet what about me? Do I like neva or Eleanor both neither. she said to herself before she thought of the people she loved and cared about most. Cali. Cali was the first person she thought of and she quickly continued. The next person on the list would be her good for nothing brother. She hated him but she still loved him. The next person caught Sally off guard. It was Neva and Eleanor. She still wasn't 100% sure of everything but she knew she cared about them.

(This is deep. I literally made Sally up on the spot for this rp and now she has a very intriguing backstory)

Bernadette looked up, listening to the pirate with a solemn expression as a small smile pulled at the edges of her lips.
"Yeah… thats why I left too. The world is so afraid of the dangers in the water. I wanted to a part of that danger, to be free"

@Nor_bananas

(I have an over active imagination. I was litteral in class when I cam up with Sally's brother is a general who hates pirate's and Sally is a pirate thing)

neva slept off her intox in her hammock as it swayed gently. her door was now open to whom ever she didn't care at this point. nevas usually braided hair flowed over the side, it was way longer when it was let down. she was sleeping peacefully until someone decided to talk and she figured it wouldn't be anytime soon.

@Nor_bananas

Sally went to sleep in her small not so great bed but she couldn't sleep and she didn't know why. So she took her map out and started to work on it.

"Yes," Eleanor breathed. "That's it. I want to be free." She sighed softly. "But I'm afraid that will never happen." She didn't know why she trusted Bernadette as much as she did. They'd only just met, but Eleanor felt a strange attraction to the girl. Not necessarily a romantic attraction, it was more of a shared understanding, kinship-type attraction.

Bernadette took Eleanor's hand tentatively, locking their eyes together. "I want to be free too. I really do. Perhaps… we can help each other become free." She said, barely a whisper. It was odd, the amount of things she was sharing with the woman. The openness. She was almost never like this with anyone else

Eleanor couldn't help but notice how soft Bernadette's hand was in her own. She searched her eyes and saw a recognizable depth of vulnerability. Her thumb gently stroked over the skin of Bernadette's hand, and she smiled faintly. "Yes, I'd like that."

Etta smiled, her gentle comfort displaying across her face as she rubbed back. "good." He muttered, her smile only growing by the second. "Good."

@emilyevewrites group

Eleanor flushed at the girl's touch. "I have no clue what to say to Neva now," she admitted quietly. "I do think I'm still in love with her, but I can't be with someone who doesn't want me back."

Bernadette sighed, tracing small shapes along Eleanor's hand while she nodded, somewhat understandingly.
"I'm.. I'm truly, very sorry." She mumbled, unsure of how to comfort the girl

Etta thought for a moment, looking out at the swells of the sea, breathing in the salted air.
"I think…. I think I'd let my past dissolve behind me. I'd create a new path, a new life, and abandon everything I detested…" She thought aloud, before turning back to Eleanor and blushing slightly. "I-I suppose."

@emilyevewrites group

Eleanor smirked. "I've already tried that," she teased lightly. "How on earth do you think I even ended up here?" She squeezed Bernadette's hands gently to let her know that she was kidding.
